Why does it appear that Democrats support the troops, and not the war. And the Republicans support the war, and not the troops.

My dear, interesting question...the truth is that Democrats support the troops because we understand how vital it is to have a strong military and naturally appreciate their patriotic willingness to serve, you'd have to be an utter idiot (see Bill and Rickywhatever) not to support our troops.
Democrats, being caring and clearly better informed than most repubs understand that we can best support our troops by ensuring they do not DIE or get SEVERELY injured in war that has absolutely no basis. Iraq had NOTHING whatever to do with attacking America and were never a remote threat to us...Sadam is indeed one of the worst human beings alive (right up there with georgie boy) for his desire and willingness to kill masses of innocent people.
Democrats also understand that to send our troops to war without proper protection is immoral and F!^*% OUTRAGEOUS.
Democrats do not merely accept all the lies this disgusting administraion perpetuates, no matter how many times they repeat their filthy lies...we refuse lie still when we see the decimation of our Country and our Constitution. We are iinfinitely more patriotic or infinitely better informed -- there is no other explanation for so many repubs being so idiotically supportive of a lying and extremely ill-informed president.
Democrats further understand how intent georgie boy was to be a war president--it was his agenda going in, as he said himself, being a war president gives you CAPITOL...and that means power, control, freedom to do what you want, and did he EVER take advantage of that.
Democrats also know how georgie and his friends have profited financially from their immoral uncalled for war (that has only made us LESS safe) by handing over sole-source contracts (no need to bid and even attempt to provide services at competitive costs) to all their friends at Halliburton, Black Water, Tital, CACI and others who are profiteering HUGELY from providing SHABBY services, including providing bacteria-laden water to OUR TROOPS! There is no word bad enough for these people...stuffing their pockets means more to them then does keeping out troops safe and well. (See a DVD recently produced by Robert Greenwald, Iraq For Sale, and you will see troops and ex-workers for these companies tell you how it is).

An excellent question my friend...Could it be because the Democrats realize that this CIVAL war is not worth shedding American blood for, and they would like to bring their troops safely home. Could it be because they realize this war is making The War on Terror worse, strengthening Al Quada and causing hatred of America and Islamic extremism to grow worldwide?
Or, could it be that don't understand why we sent 140,000 troops to a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, but only 20,000 to a country that had everything to do with 9/11.
A week after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, Bush said he wanted Osama Bin Laden "dead or alive."
But he told reporters six months later, "I truly am not that concerned about him. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
We can't get the guy that murdered 3000 of our citizens, but at least we can go get all those "WMD's"
The Republicans, let's see...Could it because their infallible leader bullied America into this war to find the "weapons of mass destruction". (Remember the phrase that was used in Congress to help gain support for the invasion "We don't want the proof (of WMD) to be in the form of a mushroom cloud"
I won't go so far as to say they don't support the troops. I don't consider them evil, just misguided and mis-lead. I don't believe they enjoy seeing the images of dead Americans and Iraqis shot in the back of the head and dumped in ditches by the dozens. They really do believe that all this blood will lead to a flourishing democracy in Iraq. Why not, it has before. I hear Vietnam worked out pretty good.

Good point. In fact, great point. I'd say, though, that the Republicans support the war AND the troops; its Rumsfeld, Cheney and their minions that don't seem to be doing much for the troops, and of course Bush is just going along for the ride.

Democrats have feelings and want the troops to come home.Republicans dont have feelings and want the troops to stay over there so that the gas prices will continue to increase

Republicans do support the troops and the war.
The democrats say they support the troops but in reality they don't.
The logic is simple if you say you support the troops and the troops are fighting the war, then how can you not support the war.
You cannot suppport someone if you do not support what they are doing.

I am a Democrat,Hubby is on his 3rd tour in Iraq right now. Just because we don't support the Armchair losers sitting around making tons of money off the lives of our Soldiers,does not mean we don't support a war worth fighting. This one is not worth fighting. Attacking a country that had nothing to do with Osama,making things much worse than they were to begin with,and the CIA just leaked that info..Thank GOD. Our military is over there to Kick ***,and take names. The Armchair losers tell them where they need to be and what to do,and our Military does a great job at doing it. If we had a strategy,a plan to get us out of this mess,then all the better. We Don't....and look who the Armchair losers are...YUp..you guessed it..Republ.....

Bush and the Neo-Con Artists "support" the troops just like Hitler and the Wehrmacht Supreme Command supported the troops they sent to slaughter.

You can't claim to support someone, then say that everything they are doing is evil and wrong. Democrats don't give a damn about the troops.
