Not only can being friends lead to romance, IMO that's the best way to go. With a stranger you get blindsided with the emotional baggage after you've gotten hooked. With a friend you go into it with your eyes open.

My wife and I were friends for a year before we started dating. We will celebrate our 9th anniversary this October. So chalk one up for being friends first.

Being friends with someone is a good way to get to know them. However, you have to both want the same thing. You wouldn't want to crash the freindship but at the same time ignore your feelings. So what do you do? You could wait and see if more obvious signs of the mutual feeling emerge or better yet: Ask youself what's more important and go from there.

Yes. In fact girls and boys cant be bestfriend, they'll usually fell in love with each other, or at least one of them.
but remember, just because shes a good friend, doesnt mean she could be a good gf. Also, u have to think about the consecuences when u both split up, u will lose a girlfriend and a bestfriend

Hi Russell,

I hate to be the bearer of bad news and sound like queen biatch but this girl you are interested in does not sound interested in you. I've seen your questions on here and you seem very focused on 1 particular girl. If she has not made a move, and made it clear to you (as in you would not need to ask questions on here) that she only wants to be friends you should respect that. Otherwise you are in danger of losing her completely as a mate and you end up sounding like a stalker.
Just chill and instead of focusing on this girl, enjoy YOUR life and who knows who you might meet?

Wishing you all the luck.

Sure could..but thats a dangerous road to tread because if the relationship goes wrong, most of the time its very hard to salvage the friendship. It's risky.

Usually it ends up with a drunken incident that both of you regret and ruins the friendship...
