What is revisionist theology?

Somebody asked me what Revisionist theology means , he thinks it is a group of people..bla bla bla I know what it means in meaning but can any body give more info please?

I listened online to many of the presentations, and they were very moving and powerful witnesses to the “unity-in-difference” that has become a distinguishing characteristic of the Episcopal Church. A spokesperson, though, from a dissident Episcopal group in the American church dismissed the theological explanations from the North American churches as “revisionist theology.”

And that dismissive phrase really got me thinking—what theology isn’t revisionist? Would there be such a thing as the Anglican Communion, much less the Anglican Consultative Council, were it not for revisionist theology? Would any of us be sitting here this morning? Would there be such a thing as the church, were it not for revisionist theology?
