In fettucine Alfredo, the sauce has no eggs but the pasta might -- check the ingredients on the box to be sure. Anyway, a long time ago I had fettucine Alfredo at Alfredo's (the one in Manhattan, not the one in Rome). They prepare it at tableside there, with a chafing dish on one of those nifty rolling carts, but here's how you can do it at home. (If you've GOT a chafing dish and a nifty rolling cart, by all means go for it! :-)
Fettucine Alfredo tor two, as served at Alfredo's (modified for home prep):
1/2 stick butter, brought to room temperature (out of fridge for about 30-45 minutes)
Heavy cream, about 1/4 cup (see directions)
Freshly grated parmigiano cheese
Grated nutmeg
Heat a serving bowl in the oven, at 200 degrees for about 10-15 minutes (while the pasta cooks is fine).
Beat the butter with a fork until fluffy. Then prepare the pasta according to directions. When finished, drain the pasta and add to the warmed serving bowl. Add the softened, beaten butter to the fettucine. Drizzle a small amount of the cream over the buttered noodles -- no more than 1/4 cup, possibly less. Toss to mix and coat the noodles.
Grate a little nutmeg over the pasta, tossing to distribute it evenly. Add about two tablespoons of grated cheese, then serve; allow guests to add more cheese if desired.
Enjoy!

Easy
First make a roux by melting 3 tbsp unsalted butter and 3 tbsp white flour. Cook over low heat stirring constantly for about 2-3 minutes. Add 2 cups whole milk, some freshly ground white or black pepper and a pinch of nutmeg. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring frequently (watch for the milk not to overrun). When boiling, lower heat and add 1/4-1/2 cup of grated parmesan. Stir for a minute, turn off heat, and serve over pasta with some vegetables. Fresh chopped basil is great with this.

This will work great.
Melt a stick of real butter
Add a Lg container of heavy cream(a quart or more)
Add a container of parmesean cheese
add salt & pepper
a lil garlic (optional)
In addition you can add a lil parsley for color and other cheeses like romano
portabello mushrooms go great with it sliced and mixed in
basil tastes good in it too
If it's too thick you can always add milk
if it's too thin then you can add some cornstarch (mixed in water lst.)
It's the most basic
