of course. but she moved in with him in that short of time? you did the right thing. but just be there for him if you like him. i mean friends come and go and i mean your friend will get over it if they are a real friend. and it seems like she broke up with him and in my opinion thats fair game. if you like him just be there for him. hang out with him. and maybe do some flirting and stuff. just dont push it right now. hey i think this gives you a chance to move in and show him your there for him.. and it might give you a chance.

You weren't to know that it wouldn't last. You were doing the right thing as you could have been selfish and ignored the way they were both feeling at that time.
The best way for you to get in there is to be supportive to him, listen to him and be there for him as a friend...let youself be a shoulder to cry on for him then hopefully in no time at all, he will realise what a sweet and caring person you are and he will grow to love you.
But make sure you say to him first something like, "I am so sorry things went badly, I feel responsible because if I had known this was going to happen...." at that point he should say something like "its not your fault its hers" then you can get talking and he will lean on you. Make sure you are there for him and DON'T mess him around else he'll be gunning for you!!!
P.S. Forget the rule where your not meant to date your friends exes as you saw him first and you weren't gonna be selfish.
Sorry to ramble on lol but I hope it helps :D

They liked each other. Whether you set them up or not they would have probably gotten together, and suffered the same disappointment. Don't sweat it.

Sure, you gave it a shot and didn't work. Nothing to fret over. Tell your neighbor your feelings, you might be surprised.
