Your young and naive and very foolish.
GUYS DON'T LIKE IT WHEN YOU PLAY GAMES. Deny it all you want, but it's a game your playing and it's not fair to him.
I've said it before and I'll say it again; men are raised to be direct and to the point. We like to look at things that complicate our lives and make it simple. What your doing, in a man's eye, is chaotic. You MUST be direct to him and tell him the truth. Don't worry, he'll get over it. It's not your business how he'll deal with it. The important thing is to tell him directly.
Stop acting in a way that your making him chase you. He's doing that because you didn't give him a clear message.
Tell it to him STRAIGHT and to THE POINT.
If you like him, tell him. Why would you like a guy and step back because you feel that this other girl is for him? Sounds like you have high expectations of men instead of seeing them for what they are.
Maybe he'll feel better if you tell him that your not the person to be with and that you recognize that the girl he's with has qualities that match his.
I think this is the best solution because it is the truth.

I have the same problem honey.Just act cool, smile and talk with someone while he is around you somewhere.I do that, but sometimes I want to see him in his eyes sooooooo badly :(and I can't prevent that.
