My name is Mai. My father just passed away and me and my family are going for his funeral. We need help with our rent for the month of October. Because my husband is the only one working and I just started a minimum wage job but we purchased plane tickets already. We bought a two way ticket to go on the 28 of september and come back on the 3rd of october but they changed my dad's funeral date. We are worried because my husband's next paycheck, we must buy plane tickets to come back . Please help me and my family so we wont lose our home...Thank you..

Get in touch with Community Support Organisations (Charities) in your area, and explain your situation to them.
If they believe you, they may be able to help you.
As for me, I have enough trouble paying my own rent, so I won’t be helping you !!!

Get your priorities in order! What is more important to you? Attending the funeral services of a man who lives far from you, be it your father or anyone else, or paying your rent to avoid getting tossed to the curb by your landlord?
Even though I realize that the imposed moral obligation of attending the services forced you to such a terrible decision you can cancel the tickets and at least get some of your money back.
The suggestions people have made of contacting community services and the like are not realistic because it would take several days, if not weeks to process such a request. They mean well but don't have the nerve to tell you the reality of things.
If this is a scam, shame on you for using such a ploy!

That is sad Im sorry though I barely make it month to month. You just opened my eyes though cause if anything happens to my family I have to fly with 3 kids in tow. You should always have 3 months of bills saved up. I know its impossible.

Go to your local Department of Social Services, in most states they have something that is in effect a "one shot deal" if there are extraordinary circumstances-depending of their opinion of extraordinary.
