how can i stop a dog from craping in my yard?

my two little boys step in dog poop every time they play outside. we don't have a dog.

I am having the same problem and believe this, when I told the owner he said "she craps in every bodies yard", The course of action is to call the dog police and report the owners (if you know who they are) or go to the owners house and explain the situation. Don't be mean to the dog, people make the assumption that it is the dog that is the problem when it really is the owner who needs to be held responsible. I heard once that a person put the poo in a small box and wrapped it up real pretty w/a bow on it and then put it on the owners porch.

This is horrible but I will tell you what my brother did. He seen this lady walking her dog down the street and she let the dog stop and poop in my mom's yard and the lady didn't pick it up. My brother said something to her and she just kept walking. The lady just lives a few houses down so my brother went and got the poop and stuck it in a zip lock bag and put it on their front steps with a note on it saying "the next time your dog sh*ts in my mom's yard this will be on your door knob" I thought it was very childish for him to do it, but the dog hasn't pooped in my mom's yard again. You do need to catch the dog/person and find out where the dog lives and speak with the owner...or if it isn't on a leash, find out where it lives and call the city and they will be fined.

Moth balls will work also sprinkle black and/or cayenne pepper around the area that they dog is messing in. You might want to find out who has a dog in your neighborhood and find out what they look like then watch for the perpetrator and ask the offending owner to either stop or clean up after their animal. Also, check your local laws about this problem, some municipalities have ordinances against this sort of thing and the person could be fined. Good Luck

the best way is to put moth balls around the yard where the dog is leaving the mess. Or u could find out who owners the dog and call them and tell them about the problem. Another idea is to pick up the piles and return them to the yard of the owners of the dog.

That would totally piss me off! Do you have any clue as to whos dog it is. Pick the dog crap up..bag it up take it to the owners and tell them to keep there dog out of your yard or you'll get ahold of somebody that will. if the dog is wondering around by itself..call the pound.

buy some dog repellent at home depot and sprinkle it in the yard.
or, sprinkle pepper in the yard where the dog poops, or bait a trap and carry him off to the pound or if your somewhat secluded shoot the dog with a 9mm glock.

Go to a pet shop and buy this drug which I cannot remember the name, but it has a smell that repels dogs and cats from pooping all over your yard. And most of all is non-lethal or hazardous to you, your family, or the animal itself.

I would contact the owner and let them know that since you don't have a dog you don't think you should have to clean up dog crap off your lawn. In most states dog owners have to carry a bag to pick up after them.

buy a BB gun and wait in ambush, if the dog is being walked and is on a leash shoot the person not the dog, the dog will stop crapping in your yard trust me.
