I don't think theirs anything wrong with this. I got my belly button pierced when I was 12 and it didn't turn me into a raving delinquent! I never wore clothes to show it off or anything I just wanted it myself. I wouldn't think anything of a mum that allowed this, if I was a mum id allow it. I'm still fairly young and over the years the most sc****d up kid are the ones that come from homes with over barring parents, I think this is because they can never live up to the unrealistic expectations parent put on there kids. No, I say let you kid get her belly pierced, or any other part she'll love you for it more in the long run.

Any piercer with morals will not tattoo or pierce anyone under the age of 16 with or without parental concent. The place where I get my tattoos wont even allow anyone under the age of 14 in the shop.
So I think it's terrible. It's one thing to see teenagers running around with their belly showing and something sparkling on there belly, but she's not even a teen yet. She's still a little girl.
Yeah, I thought I was grown at 12 too, but I wasn't, and I know that now, and I"m glad my mom didn't let me run around like a ho.

Oh well i must be a bad mother , my 2 eldest daughters got their navel done when they were 12 and neither of them have had any problems with their piercings , no infections etc and they are not allowed to wear crop tops either . They went on and on for ages for this to be done so for their birthdays i took them to a reputable beautician to have this done and i bought expensive belly rings to reduce the possibility of infection . That was 4 years ago now for my eldest daughter , she now has her tongue pierced and no problems again . I had my navel done before any of them and its totally painless ..
Just for the record we are not a family of chavs and i do not work the streets , my girls have been brought up in a loving environment , their parents are still together , they do well at school , none of them wear skirts or make up and no boyfriends and they are doing great at school . So all the rude people making stupid remarks need to get over theirselves .
There are no laws as yet in the UK as to what age a navel can be pierced on girls , its not child abuse and i am not trying to be a good friend to my children , my kids abide by mine and dads rules and believe you me we are strict .

My daughter is 12 and keeps asking for hers to be done but i refuse she is far to young for this, she as her ears done twice and i think this is enough till she is older at the moment she is living with my mum who tends to let her get away with things hence why she as had her ears done again but i will really blow my top if she tells me she has had her belly done and my mum as let her i have a friend who has let her daughter have hers done a few years back when she was 12 and the next i spoke to her she told me she now as a tattoo aged 14 n half i think its disgusting to allow this. We cant mold our children into mini Me's just for the sake of having a living fashion accessory of our selves.

12 is way to young for a belly piercing. Who knows what the mother was thinking to allow it.

I think 12 is WAY too young for that. That mom (in my opinion) is irresponsible. The only way a minor can get anything pierced is with parental concent, up to the age of 18 I believe, so the mom HAD to know what was happening. I find that extremely irrespossible of that mom for letting her child do that.

12 is a little young but theres mums out there that get there baby's ears pierced now that's wrong! remember when you were 12 n just had to have that latest fashion accessory mine was the top of the ear pierced it hurt like hell till i took it out, my mum flatly refused for nearly 6 months till i nagged that much she gave in. i instantly regretted having it done but i would have gone on forever bout it.

i don't think it is reasonable for a girl of such a young age to have her belly pierced, her mum should be setting an example and not letting her have certain things like this done. I don't mean any of this offensivly but i think that the appropriate age for having that done is 16...basically all it is doing is drawing attention to the girls body...it may look nice but she should wait until she is older to have this done

I think thats not right being 12 and geting a belly pierced is too young at least she should wait intill she is 16.

she wants piercing at 12, maybe sex at 14 what will be next. Not a good mother, I've seen little girls with miniskirts makeup and high heels (not too high but high enough for a Little girl) and We always think the worst about the mother, what corner does she work at?
