John the Baptist did all his baptizing at the river. Even Jesus was baptized outdoors. So I think your daughter is in great company. Many churches have outdoor baptizing services.

Traditionally, in the Catholic Church, the child is baptized inside the church sanctuary and as a part of Mass. The child is baptized in the sanctuary because that is where people gather on a regular basis to worship and praise God. The child is baptized in the church sanctuary to bring the person into the Body of Christ - the Church.

It makes little sense to have a child baptized outside in a river or a lake unless that river or lake is the normal place where the people gather to worship. If the child is baptized in the church, the child can say, "This is the place I was baptized and this is the place where I gather with others to worship God."

This is also the reason that weddings are conducted inside a church and not outside.

Depends on how old she is according to me.
If she is old enough to realize what it is about, and will actually repent of sins and do her best to stay on the path of the Lord, then I don't think it's about where it's done.
However, if she is an infant? What sins has she committed, and do you think she will really commit to changing her life yet?
