I am a single mother of three children whose father suddenly died to a sservice connected illness. I receive VA benefits for them and since May 2006 they have been messing up on my checks. They started making the checks out tot he deceased veteran instead of me well i returned the checks and now they beleive i am deceased and have suspended my benefits due to this. I have a man from the American Legion service rep working on this for me. But in the mean time i have tried every veterans organization i could find on the internet and to no avail can i recieve any financial assistance for me and my children. We are going to be evicted from our home soon, and i will have no choice but to place my children in foster care until the VA gets my back money to me. I have been in contact with a senator and he is working on it also. But until then what do i do to save my childrens home?

Go to the chief administrator/director of the VA there. Starting with another agency will just further confuse things but the squeeky wheel gets the grease, bring you children in with you and don't take no for an answer.
I'm sorry for your loss.

I suggest you keep after the Veterans Service Officer, I pursumed that you have sent the VA a copy of your husband's death certficate and since your husband died for a service connected illness your children should be eligible for benefits at least until the age of 18, in some cases 21, as long they remain in school.
I suggest you contact your local VA office. You can find one on the VA's web site, their link is, http://www.va.gov/
You can also call them at 1-800-827-1000
And if you need to, the VA can recommend lawyers who specialize in veterans affairs.

Good Luck

Get ahold of the DAV, American Legion and other Veterans groups in your area. They will light a fire under the VA's butt for you. Also, the service relief society for that branch can help you.

you are going to be unhappy on the dying of anybody who died interior the service of their usa even in spite of the indisputable fact that they volunteered. Firemen, policemen, service provider seamen and a great number of others tackle jobs understanding the disadvantages notwithstanding it continues to be unhappy whilst they lose their lives quite for their families. As on your question "is it suited" so which you would be able to tell the relatives of the deceased something which will disenchanted them only so which you may make a inexpensive political element.....NO it is not suited OR first rate.
