It's child's toy! People are making it impossible for children of hard working parents to get a nice gift for Christmas. I wanted to get a couple for my nieces, but I'm not paying that price for a toy. It's really NOT fair.

There is nothing fair in greed and commercialism. Your nieces do deserve a nice thoughtful gift for Christmas, not some overprice media hyped toy that they will play with for a week (tops) and then stuff in a closet along with all the other media hyped toys their parents shelled out hard earned bucks for.
Buy them their favorite book, or an interesting book on a topic they love. Other good suggestions are toys that make them think, that let them use their imaginations instead of passively watching something.
Let the e-bay seller sit on his cache of Elmos, and buy half a dozen at a garage sale in two years time.

First law of Economics is called Supply & Demand. If you don't want to pay the extorted price, then don't buy it!

So long as people are willing to pay a price for an item, then the "HAVES" get to charge that price or more.

Don't know about fair, but it's the American way: Capitalism. I'm surprised parents are still falling for this kind of hype. Didn't we do that with the Cabbage Patch Dolls, Furbies, the Xbox, etc. etc. Marketers do this every year, and parents, overcome with "guilt", fall prey,
There's the movie about it, too. "Jingle All The Way."

Yes, people are so greedy. It would be nice to get your nieces something they really want, but ask them to give you a longer list to choose from.

Also, just wonder if you have tried checking on kbtoys.com or amazon.com or any other respectable sites that sell toys on-line.

they are idiots and their children are more than likely spoiled rotten little brats. and yes it is fair but unfortunately that is life and most ppl in life are selfish and rude and do not care about fairness or anyone else when it comes to money or something they want.
