Highly, addictive!! I myself, many years ago, "Been there, Did that!!!" And didn't like it, at all !!! But, I do know people who think it gives them energy!! And are highly addicted, to it !!! For many years!! I feel sorry for them, but I've never heard of anyone, ever getting a MUI, for cannibus!! Much safer than DUIs!!! And I've never heard of any "Domesic-Arrests" from cannibus!! I've never heard of anyone being irrastional, from it at all !! They even give it to Cancer Patient's, for an alternative medicine, as appose to chemo!! So, that's got to say something for the effects, from it, not being Harmful !! Oh and people who have Glaucoma can use cannabus, as well !!! So, they use it for medicine, but, arrest people for growing it, or for having more than an ounce, in some states!! Makes no sense to me !!! I think they should just go ahead and make it "Legal!!" You know..... Smile!!!

From the research that I have read and the comments that other people have discussed, I believe that it is not addictive physically, but it is addictive psychologically.
However, the one of the reasons why it has been made illegal is because it tends to dull the senses over time. The same pleasurable experiences felt in a drink, a toke, or a sexual encounter eventually have less and less impact because the brain's neural structure becomes chemically altered. How this change occurs is through a process of desensitization.
But concerning illegality, the U.S. government doesn't want pot legalized because most people who smoke it become so desensitized that they never want to work. Could anybody even imagine what would happen to capitalism if nobody wanted to work. The big, greedy companies that pay their employees poor wages would have to start to cough-up big money, because the demand for workers would go up. This phenomenon was seen in the 1990s when drug use escalated, which caused a boost in wages.
So when we see the tired old argument about how making pot illegal is "for our own safety" and the "good of the community," in reality it is for the good of CEOs, stockholders, and people who profit from the obscenely cheap labor costs. When Henry Ford began to market his first car, the Model T, he gave it a price "that the average working man could afford in a year's time." Now, we are having to work 5,6, or even 7 years to pay for automobiles! The rate of pay has not kept up with the rate of inflation. The government and some CEOs understand this fact very well and want to do away with any potential influences that could affect the availability of workers. This includes marijuana.
