I think there is a difference between what you asked and what you want to know. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think what you want to know is. "Do you have to paint both sides of a door the same color?" The answer to that is no. As Steve said do your coordinating as your taste dictates. I paint the edges of the door the same color as the side facing the room it swings into.
The only time I have ever questioned a paint scheme on a door was a customer who wanted a beautiful oak door painted on the outside to match the house trim, and left natural inside to match the interior molding. I finally convinced her not to. We just refinished the door leaving the natural wood. The fact that I did the refinish for the same price as painting hurt my bottom line but painting a beautiful hardwood door would have been more painful than loosing a few dollars.

SIGH,,,no offense.
I've applied thousands of gallons of paint, among other contracting issues I involve in.
Typically a door,,, no matter interior or exterior has the face painted, and the leading edge, depending on what way the door opens,,, in the same color at least. certainly you can paint the exterior on all edges the same, as well.
The interior of any door should AND can be painted to match or coordinate with those colors surrounding it.

Very important to use external paint for the outside of doors. You want to protect it from the elements. Did you know that the latest craze in terms of "curb appeal" color for main front doors is a bright red color? I think you should go for it! Make a bold statement!. I also reommend Semi-Gloss on the interior side. Doors tend to get dirty faster than any part of the house. Semi-Gloss helps to repel dirt.

No - paint the inside a colour that will enhance your interior. Neutral is best.

it somewhat is fullyyt as much as you. many homes seem extra appropriate while the doorways are a continuing colour. on the different hand, in case you want to visually de-emphasize the facet door, you need to paint it a similar colour through fact the siding. there is not any stict rule approximately it. it actual relies upon on what you're attempting to end visually.
