It would still be polite to excuse yourself....or you could blame it on the person in the closest stall.

If you are at the urinal it is more acceptable. Just laugh it off or say nothing. However if you are at the sink I would apologise.
Are you scared to do number 2 in public restroom? I'd try and get over this fear. I always take a hand towel, soap it up and then wash the seat before sitting on it. This saves paper and is more effective than just hovering or putting tp on the seat.

If I'm at a urinal or sink I excuse myself, but if I'm on the throne, no. I had a friend, a middle aged lady, who used to say excuse me every time she farted or made a splash on the toilet. It was more embarrassing than just continuing the conversation as if nothing had happened.

Laugh and say excuse me.....it's natural and human and lord knows everyone does it. It's different for guys...they think it's a huge accomplishment....haha...gawd. Women, on the other hand, would probably laugh it off and say excuse me. Holdin it in isn't healthy, cos that's why we DO fart! Our bodies are tryin to get rid of gas. People fart at least 20 times a day. That's a physiological fact. Just say OOOPS and laugh and excuse yourself and forget it.

You would do absolutely nothing. This is the correct etiquette for flatulence.
One is assumed not to be in control of flatulence. Anyone saying or doing anything to draw attention to it, including the "culprit," is rude. Everyone is supposed to politely pretend that nothing happened.
Note this is different from a burp, which one is assumed to be in control of, and requires an "excuse me."
I don't make the rules, but I know about them!

It's OK.
It's normal, you are pushing eventually one is going to come out. either at the urinal or toilet.
Out side is different, especially in an elevator, or in a line up.
DO not hold it in too long as it can also cause gastrointestinal problems

As loudly as you can say, "Oh god, yeah!" Smile widely and look around at everyone in the bathroom and nod.
