Do what you can to find the cat. Put up flyers, offer a small reward, knock on doors. Call the cat every night and if there is a cat door or small window, leave it open with some cat food inside. If it has only been a couple of days, the cat will come back. Also, call the local SPCA and animal shelters, maybe someone found it and handed it in and he or she is there now. Once you have done all this, you will know you have done all you can, it was an accident and not your fault.

If you were my ex-wife you would pay them three times what the cat was worth. IT'S A CAT! How many cats are in the world? I am no rocket scientist but my guess would be LOTS! I wouldn't worry about it. If they are okay about it and you don't detect any signs of hate toward you, I wouldn't pay. If you do see they are disturbed, then feel free to dish out some cash! It's not that hard.

Just do not bother. u have asked so many question from different angle I am pretty sure u will forget this. Time is the best panacea. u will forget as the time lapses. this is only temporary one. Forget the incident.
