NO NO NO NO it will make the laminate sweat and warp you need a proper underlay for laminate that keeps the moisture level away from the laminate.....I sell it so have to know everything about it........if you insist on leaving it down make sure you put a good laminate underlay down on top of the lino

I have to agree with the person who says NO!
We tried the same thing and after a while the lino starts to smell which in turn makes the room smell,it is well worth doing it properly with the correct insulation and rip up the lino.

you still need the new insulation for noise. When you walk on it with out the insulation it will be very noisy, like a horse on the street. But you dont have to pull up the lino. I have layed laminate on top of ceramic tile and have no problems.

I did my kitchen about 6 months ago. I did put down some more insulation for noise. I have not had any problems with the laminate. We took every thing out of our kitchen, went from wall to wall. It looks good. We have also done our living room, 2 hall ways, 1 bed room and 1 bathroom. I would not recommened the bathroom, if you have children.

Absolutely. As long as the existing floor is in relatively good condition, you can use it in stead of insulation. You should use a thin underlay foam to protect good lino, in-case you change your mind in future.

I think you will still need an underlay on top of the lino.
