skip those old wives tales like crisco or mayo working. I get any lice creame rinse (I've used store brands) Apply to direction, and wait recommended time. Next apply if you can find Queen Helene creame rinse (usually at a dollar store)(VO5 sometimes works, too) to help you comb through the hair to remove nits. Its odd, but the bugs don't like Queen Helene rinse and any living ones try to crawl out. I've also added olive oil to help combing out be easier, but then you gotta wash with Dawn dishwashing liquid to get the oil out! Olive Oil will kill some bugs, but ya got to keep it on the hair (in a shower cap) for around 8 hours. the number one thing is to make sure all nits are removed. Some nits may be 'dead', others may be just 'dormant' ating to hatch and reinfest. EVERY DAY wash there head and add creame rinse to help comb through their hair taking out any nits.

hun im dealing with it to but the best way to get rid if it is to have the docter call in for a perscription then follow the instructions but make sure you do everyone in the house then when thats done go threw picking out the dead bugs and the eggs take everything such as blankets pillow cases stuffed animals out of the childs room then take bug spray or the lice spray because they both will work sprayi used raid roach and ant spray then spray the whole house the mattress the floor the furniture everything just spray it then put new sheets and pillow cases and blankets on the beds also place a sheet on the furniure where every one sits this will keep you from haveint to spray again change sheets and pillow cases every day then mix lice shampoo with the normal shampoo this will prevent her from getting it again wash everyones hair a few time a week with the lice mixed shampoo for the eggs also know as nits try some kind of veggie or olive oil the oils make it easier to remove the eggs and helps to smother them to my daughter had brough head lice home from kindergarden i called the school and had them do head checks on all the kids also some school have a no nit policey which means even if there are no live bug all they have are eggs they wont let them come back to school best of luck hun they are hard to get rid of but if you do as i did they will be gone and your child will be back to school in a day or 2

if you havent already get the lice shampoo then wash everyone in the home with it leave it on 10 to 15 mins if all the bugs are dead and the only thing left if eggs try olive oil or vegitable oil was all the blankets and pillow case spray the house with either the lice spray or use raid they both work soak all brushes in bleach soapey water and wash all hair ties dont let her use anything such as towels or clothe twice wash everything after each use then also mix a bottle of lice shampoo with the normal shampoo wash her hair with it every 2 or 3 days

Well it is sad to say but once children are in school/ daycare this happens alot. call your childs doctor they can prescribe this hair medicine so your not buying it. Do as they say to. than comb her hair. the next day have your doctor check your childs hair for you if you feel more comfortable then you can also get a note saying it is ok for child to return to school. After doing treatment lice are dead but the eggs can remain that is why they say in 10-14 days you may want to treat hair again to make sure you kill any newly hatched eggs. you are doing what you should be but remember the remedy doesnt always fix the problem totally the first time it may need another treatment. OH and ask the school if every other child has been sent home with a note stating for thier hair to be checked and treated so to be sure she isnt catching it from someone who keeps giving it to your child. have a nice day hope it works out for you.

My 6 y/o got lice from Kidnergarden. It went away with a new comb actually- no lice shampoo. This comb is really small with fine bristles and somehow shocks the hair electically and kills the lice and pulls the eggs out. Then you just wash it normally and wash the bedding and of course spray some lice killer around the house on furniture and carpet. Don't forget to boil your hair brushes and hair ties.

don't be too hard on yourself or your daughter.it happens all the time .very common once children start school.go to your pediatrician, they will prescribe drugs for it.there are some over the counter spray that works.you spray it on ,leave it for the prescribed length of time and you take the hair bit by bit and comb it thoroughly.you will comb out the lice and eggs.repeat the treatment after some days.it works.all the stuff at home like pillowcase and bed sheets you can wash and if you have a cloths dryer put it on the hottest and use it to dry them.it kills both lice and eggs too. you will overcome this.best of luck

Do her hair comb through after the shampoo sits on for a while & again after you rinse it out. They have spray for furniture & everything else her hair touches.Keep her hair up as much as possible at school.Sounds like some one at school still has it.It is very popular. This happened to my cousin in 7th grade 7 did'nt stop until she got out of school.I know it sucks i had to pick through her hair for 4-5 hours once or twice a month.Believe me the cleanest people in the world get it.My mom used to keep are animals & stuff in bags for 2 months to be safe. You can also use lysol to spray your house down.Wash everything in very hot water.Hope you get rid of it soon.

JUST the shampoos and stuff doesn't work. You have to get rid of the source. It will take patience but you have to get rid of ALL the nits on the hair. With a very very fine toothed comb and then shampoo it and all that good stuff. Don't worry it happens to the best of it, I'm a completely clean person and I got too close to a nasty girl when I was little and got it.. a friend of the family sat down for 4 hours to egt rid of it.

Keep her hair clean and wash everyday. Get a kind of medicine use to cure head lice -- ask the pharmacies for it. It is a kind of oil. After applying the oilment on the head, use towel to wrap her whole hair for a while before washing it. You may wish to follow the instructions instead. Head lice also stay on walls especially on wall cracks, they can reproduce quite fast. You may see a red line of them on the wall too. Next throw away all the pillows and replace them with anti-bacteria type.
Ask her preshool teacher to check on other children's head too cos head lice can hop from one head to another and stay there. But if your head is clean enough, they don't really want to stay there. The lice may have come back from other children. Remember to keep her hair as clean as possible.

I hate to break it to you, but the only thing you can really do is keep doing what you are doing.
Keep in mind that all the toys and everything you have to keep in a bag I think for a month.
Make sure she isn't using the the same pillow each night too.
Like I said, I don't really have any other suggestions. My mom went through the same thing. I think it's a right of passage or something! :)
