When Teflon Tony and Bullsh***er Bush said that our troops will stay in Iraq and Afghanistan till the job is done. What job exactly? Shouldnt we have pulled out as soon as Saddam was captured?

the job is supposedly peace. this will never happen. the warlords in afghanistan have been fighting forever and always will. likewise the she'ites and sunnies in iraq. get our troops out now and save any more of our lads from being killed and maimed.then spend the near billion pounds a year the war costs in iraq alone on sorting our own country out. the nhs , education, and all the other things that need sorting

No idea about "the job" but yes the troops should have been pulled out. Next time Tony Blair (he hasn't gone yet and you know he wouldn't know the truth if it jumped up and bit his bottom, so he could be with us for some time) takes other mothers' sons to war I do hope Cherie Blair's sons Euan and Nicky are in the front line!

As with any project, you need to define the success criteria before you start. They didn't do that and so cannot tell when they are finished.

There is no way out for them now as terrorist is a bigger threat than ever before, caused, in my opinion, by the continual inbalance in the way the west treats different parts of the middle east. And as confirmed by the USA report out this week, authored by the American intelligence agencies.

I've still yet to find anyone who can tell me, why on that particular day in 2002 ( or whenever) we had to go in that very day and kill innocent civilians. What exactly was the compelling reason for starting the war on that day ?? Can't see one myself.

If they go and pick a fight with bullies, what did they expect ?

This is probably the worst example of superpower arogance we've seen since the early days of empire building.

They do not know why we are there, other than to make them richer. The CIA just leaked that very important info about how worse of fit is now,and they still don't listen, they want to just send more of our guys there. It is crazy that they do not have a strategy,or listen to the Countries opinions on this matter. Yes,we need to get our guys home,we are not wanted there,we are wasting BILLIONS of dollars sending more guys there to get killed in outdated Military protective gear, and all for what? They all need t take ADHD medicine and work out a plan.

We will do what our politicians tell us to. It's the opinions of the British and American population that will dictated the pullout in Iraq. Very much like the Vietnam War - it will take voters from both these countries to make a difference. Encourage everyone to vote to get their voices heard.

Capturing Saddam Hussain was only a part of the job. Controlling terrorism was the entire mission. People are still being blown up over there (mainly Iraqis being blown up by non-Iraqis might I add), hince, still the need for troops.

no. The job is done when terrorism is no longer a threat because Iraq stable, women are treated fairly, people are not oppressed, and a representitive government is established that doesn't sponsor terrorism.
