I'm also a cigar smoker and I know what you mean. The woods are relaxing enough, why not enjoy a smoke while you're out there? However I'm very certain that a deer would pick up on the scent of the smoke. Cigar smoke is a different breed of smoke and is very strong. But I'm sure you knew that. Maybe save your stogie as a celebration for after you harvest an animal. 1 day ago

First make sure it is a good cigar that has been kept in a humidor. Don't bother with anything else. The Dutch Master 7-11 stuff is horrible. Go to tobacco shop and get a good one. You cut the end. Cut it, do not bite it. The proper way then is to wet the end you place into your mouth into rum. I realize this is an old fashioned Cuban thing to do, but the moist end makes the smoke less harsh. Keep dipping it to keep it moist when you are smoking it. You light the cigar with a wooden match. Do NOT use a lighter. Rotate the cigar as you suck on the end to make the entire end evenly lit. Then you enjoy your smoke. Make sure you do not inhale it as you would a cigarette or you will get ill. You are suppose to taste the cigar, not take it into your lungs.

That's not the best cigar to start with. If you've never smoked a cigar, I suggest starting with a Swisher Sweet (it's a slightly sweet flavored cigar).
Now. For starters, be sure you're legally old enough to smoke.
Then...
"Toast" the end of the cigar slightly; this helps it have an even burn when you light it.
Now light it and puff gently to get the end lit uniformly.
DO NOT INHALE. Cigar smoke is enjoyed for its flavor on/in the palate, and is not meant to be inhaled.
Be careful, as cigars can sometimes be strong - they're bigger than a cigarette, so they'll have more nicotine, in general.
Later, you may try other cigars. A friend of mine found an organic cigar (grown without pesticides, and with natural fertilizers) series sold by Plasencia.
Good luck!

wow lots of haters... I'll help you...
1. Cut off the end you smoke or use a punch. A cigar cutter will be good.
2. use matches or a lighter with no smell, (butane I believe) to light the smoking end. For best results, if the cigar is a grand one, light it without puffing.
3. puff the cigar, do not inhale.
4. smoke it slowly, it should burn evenly. (if it doesn't you are not necessarily doing it wrong). Ask me and will explain later.
5. its often best to smoke after a meal, especially if you are new to cigars.
enjoy!!

First split the cigar down the middle. Next, Fill the Cigar up with the best Mary you can find.Spread it evenly Thru your Dutch (i prefer Garcia Vegas myself) Note: Its Best if you break down the Mary and get all the sticks and seeds out so the sticks dont rip the cigar and the seeds wont pop while you smoke. after that roll the gar. pick a side to start on and twist it as tight as you can w/o ripping the wrap. continue to twist the warp until its rolled Finally put some fame to the L and enjoy

They're okay. Not great. Just okay. Moisten it first so it'll burn evenly. With those you don't have to but it's good if you cut the end off. Light it with a match or heavy duty lighter. Smoke it only about halfway, three quarters of the way. It starts to lose it's taste after that.

It probably already has a hole on the end that goes in your mouth so there's no need to snip off the end. If the end is solid with wrapper then you'll need to snip off the end. A cutter would be preferable but scissors will do if that's all you have.
To light a cigar you need to hold it just above the flame and slowly twist it 360 degrees to slightly toast the edges. Then you can apply the flame to the end to light it.
When you puff on a cigar you don't inhale the smoke into your lungs like you do a cigarette. You just draw it into your mouth and savor the fine flavor. Then you slowly exhale it.
Smoking a cigar isn't something you do in haste as a nervous habit. Its something you do because you enjoy it. Its something you make last.
