I was seletected for verification and faxed in all the necessary papers but still they didn't think I was American so they asked for me to bring in a real proof. Now, I would but I'm not even in America and it would be insane to mail my PASSPORT to my dad and have him bring that to them. I asked her if my dad could bring in my driver's liciense and she said yes. My question is is this really okay (the driver's license) because I notice you don't need to be American to have a driver's licinese or would an a driver's license for an American look different? Are there any other options for me?

Copy of birth certificate or Copy of INS citicenship papers if not natural born
Copy of Passport would definatly do it.
Copy of Social security card as well I believe.
Ask if a copy is sufficient, I believe it should be in most cases.
A drivers license is more a proof of identity than citizenship, but if they say its good, it must be -- but again, I'd ask about sending a copy before sending the real thing.

I answered your other question..lol
anyway, why in the world would any body say mail in your birth certificate!!!!!!! what would that prove??? She wasn't born in the United States people!!!! READ
she is a naturalized citizen
You probably wouldn't need to mail your ID --the person you were speaking with probably knew little about the subject themselves
a photocopy -if they accept that , should be suffice My ID says "nonrenewable", that's how "they" knew I wasn't a citizen but now that I am, (a naturalized citizen), my license looks just like every one eleses,
So...I think your best and most credible evidence would be your naturalization certificate.
the poster under me said your social security number..she is wrong because I had a social security number when I wasn't a citizen you don't have to be a citizen to have a social secutiy number

Send in a copy of your birth certificate. This is the undisputed way of proving you were born here in the US. A driver's license is only proof of residency. I wouldn't trust putting my passport in the mail. The birth certificate is always the preferred method of proving citizenship. I know, I deal with it every day, and it's easy to just look and see where you were born rather than having to try and decipher it on other documents.

It's probably overkill, but do all three if you can. A photocopy of the information pages of your passport; the driver's license and a copy of your birth certificate, if available. It doesn't sound as though you'll have any trouble, and that she is trying to facilitate it for you. Good luck.

If you have a social security card, that would be valid proof that you are a citizen. you have to have a social security number, That is the proof that they are talking about.
A drivers license proves your identity/address. A birth Certificate proves your age/where you were born. A Social Security Card proves you are a citizen and you are legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Driver's license is no proof. Birth certificate or naturalization papers are . Certificate of baptism maybe . Some papers are illegal to make copies of,
Just hang in there. Somebody else will no doubt be better informed than I .
Good luck .

Proofs of Citizenship include Passports, Documents of Naturalization, and Birth Certificates. You could also use copies of these items.

You can make a copy of passport and mail that to them. A driver's license might work, but the copy of your passport is better.

The bottomline isn't any. No offense yet to be clean the reply it really isn't any longer ineffective isn't any, the passport on my own only isn't sufficient for existence. For 80% of issues in existence the passport is all you want. it really is known that throughout the time of order to get it contained in the first position evidence had to be shown that the guy is entitled to citizenship and the State Dept. checked all of that. when you've that all must be nicely. Now particular the State Dept. has all of this on list. So if the passport is lost or needs to be renewed there must be no problem. yet there'll be in some unspecified time sooner or later. it could be worked out in spite of the indisputable fact that it ought to take a lot. Curious as to why you'll ask about expired passports as one only keeps it up. For the applications of school and such the passport on my own would no longer be sufficient because it changed into received through your naturalization. some will only settle for that as again when you've the blue passport you're a citizen..... era. that throughout the time of tandem at the same time with his/her overseas beginning certificate must be nice. yet there would nicely be subject matters specially techniques. In regard to authorities jobs it will be an identical. they're going to take the passport and inspect from there. yet when the unique beginning is from a "denied" us of a (lots of the nonwestern international) no longer having the certificate may reason subject matters. in a lot of international locations you'd be denied clearance because you've such extremely some "ties" as in relatives contained in the unique us of a. you would get cleared initially yet as someone strikes up in receives harder and ought to take longer. A slip of paper ought to flow issues alongside. So sure usually having a passport is all you want. the authorities issued you one and in existence it somewhat is the superb id and establishes your rights. you're literally a US citizen no if's ands or buts. yet to no longer get it is going to reason discomfort later. they'd research later who's a citizen. So aspect is....... the youngster receives alongside for a time yet in some unspecified time sooner or later it will be an issue. On that be conscious if conceivable after your baby receives a US passport make certain you note for one from the abode us of a.
