what operating system are you using if windows xp ..then most mice are plug and play ...if you have any driver cd might be worth downloading them to see if they work

It could be a driver problem if its a new mouse you could need to install the driver for it.
It could be a bad connection or a faulty lead

try restarting the pc. If that doesn't work then go out on the internet and find drivers for it

What kind of mouse? is it USB or serial, USB you have to activate USB port and install driver to it, serial works if you hook it to a truck will run it.

Is it cordless and maybe needs batteries?
