In 325, the Council of Nicaea adopted a term for the relationship between the Son and the Father that from then on was seen as the hallmark of orthodoxy; it declared that the Son is "of the same substance" (ὁμοούσιος) as the Father.

Is Fireball empowered by the holy spirit, or just her Caps lock key?

Not one person here, has proven to me that God, Jesus and the Holy spirit are supposed to be 1 item split into 3 sections. They all say Jesus talked to God... was he having a conversation with himself??

Isn't this just proof that Christians can be logical?
The Bible has references to the Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. It also says that there is only one God. Isn't the Trinity just the logical conclusion of those facts? If all three are God and there is only one god -- isn't it true that they must be the same being?
The only other alternative is that the Bible is wrong. Granted, that is what I believe personally .
By the way -- the Bible wasn't put into its final form until the Council of Rome -- which was half a century after the Council of Nicea. The decision of which books were to be considered the Holy Word of God was also VOTED on by HUMANS. So what is the real difference?

for Fireball 2. The Father [ Jehovah God] the son [ Jesus] and Jehovah's power. One Father, One son and the means that He uses to get things done. Notice that the Holy spirit is never given a personal name!. Jehovah has one.[ Exodus 6;3, Jesus has one...more than one. Gabriel has one. But WHY [?] not the Holy Spirit. Because it is not a spiritual entity with a personality.

Well the word Trinity may not be mentioned in the bible , but the concept most assuredly is. In the beginning was the word and the word was God. God then sent Jesus so that the word would be made flesh. After Jesus ascended he breathed the holy Spirit onto his apostles to be their comforter. So the idea of a triune was evidenced in the scriptures. You will not find the word Rapture in the bible either. but you can find the scriptures that lend to the concept. Keep reading, you'll get it one day.

I can see that you have never read your Bible. The Council of Nicea had nothing to do with the Bible. Just because the word trinity does not appear in the Bible does not mean that God was not manifested in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. When Jesus was baptized The Son was on the earth, the Father was in heaven and the Holy Ghost fell on Him. Matthew 3: 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Matthew 3: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Who raised Jesus from the grave? The Holy Ghost raised Him. Romans 8: 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. The Father raised Him. Romans 6: 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Jesus raised himself. John 2: 19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. You also are a trinity just like God. You are made up of body, soul and spirit and the Councile of Nicea had nothing to do with that either. 1 Thessalonians 5: 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I really like many of your questions. They make sense and are the questions many wonder about, but unfortunately they do not have the answers. I totally agree with you in regards to the trinity doctrine. It is man-made as are most of the doctrines of Christendom. You don't even need an encyclopedia to find that out. The Bible contains the truth about the true God whose name is Jehovah (Psalms 83:18) and about his Son whose name is Jesus and about God's holy spirit which is not a person but the force that God uses to accomplish his purposes and to strengthen his servants in times of distress.
The reason so many have been misled by this teaching is that Satan the Devil blinds the minds of those who refuse to believe the truth: 2 Corinthians 4:4--"In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
Another reason is found at John 12:40: "He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them."

News flash ... the bible alone is not the pillar and bulwark of Truth; the Church is! (that IS in the bible!!!)
If the bible were, then wouldn't have been considerate of Christ to at least write the table of contents?
Further more, how often did Christ spell things out? Didn't he more often use parables? Scripture must be studied. The good news is that when you can't understand it, the Church stands in a position of authority to teach the true interpretation.
Which Church? The only one that's been here for 2000 years.
God Bless,

What about this verse from Scripture...
Mat 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

It's just a term we use to describe the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
"Rapture" isn't in there either. But it's the word we use for Jesus coming and getting the Christians.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures alone quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.
(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation
(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.
(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God
(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God
(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth
(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak
(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him
(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father
(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God
(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him
