In a lot of convertable cribs, you can change it to a toddler bed by simply removing the drop side. Some crib manufacturers make a little half bar that you can put in the place of the drop side, some do not. If you take the mattress out and look on the bottom of the headboard or footboard you should be able to find a sticker or stamp on the wood telling you who made the crib. You can call the manufacturer and ask for a copy of the instructions for your crib. Convertable cribs usually convert from crib to toddler to full size bed, so you may need to order the full size bed rails to go with anyway (for when you make it into a bed)

I hope this helps! To take out the drop side, just loosen the headboard and footboard on that side with and allen wrench, and you should be able to slide it right off! Good luck!

We should file a class action lawsuit against those 4 in 1 crib making companies. Besides the stage when you just take the rail down from the crib (it sort of becomes a day bed), the bed doesnt convert into anything. They claim that you can use the back part of the crib as a headboard. What a scam. I hope your crib does more than this, but that is all mine did.

You will need to contact the manufacturer and order the side rails. My daughters side rails cost around 80.00 shipped. You will use the front and back of the crib as the headboard and footboard and the sides will not be used in a toddler bed. Hope this helps and good luck.

I have a convertiable crib and I took the side with the drop side off and then i have 2 side pieces that replace that side a decorative bottom piece and a bed rail but if you no longer have the instructions for your bed then maybe you should go to he brand of your beds website and see if they have instructions there or can send you some. you can email me at aileronlacey03@aol.com and I will try to help you if you send me a pic of your bed thanks and good luck!

It all depends on the model of bed. The one we have converts into a day bed. We just had to take off the sliding rail and poof.. day bed.
