I agree with autumebrook. But if he dont want to make it work, then there is nothing to talk about, cooperation comes from both sides of the rope so that no one falls. Ohh and not just physical abouse-there is emotional too.
But there has to be a reason why he dont- did she do the cheating or did he??

I have been through the same thing. I did get divorced because my ex- was living in adultery. I tried to work it out, and he said that he wanted to, but wasn't willing to end his affairs. I couldn't allow my children to think that this was normal and acceptable. Adultery and abuse are the things that are acceptable reasons for divorce.

If you read your Bible, there are no acceptable reasons for divorce. If one or the other persons in the marriage is unfaithful or abusive, then a separation may be necessary, but not divorce.

The Bible says you can only get a divorce if one spouse commits adultery. Even then you are not to get remarried because that is also adultery.
Why do people ignore this? I don't know.

Keep in mind that there is also the option of separation. But the only reason the bible spells out that you can divorce is if your heart is hardened against your spouse because they cheat on you

God doesn't care about divorces. It is a matter of choice and it is better to get a divorce than to abuse another's spirit or allow your spirit to be abused.

NONE!!! WHEN YOU 2 ARE JOINED TOGETHER,you are no longer one, you are now bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh.... HOW can you be separated from your own flesh, and bone???? ONLY by death!!!! God does not authorize divorce, that was a man thing ,,,, NOT from GOD... He expects 2 people that engage in the act of sex for the very first time to be joined together for all of their lifetime... OH I know this is burning a lot of ears, but it is true, and it was and still is GOD ALMIGHTY'S PLAN.... JOINED TOGETHER FOR LIFE, not till a better catch comes along, FOR LIFE....That piece of paper is mans way, YOUR virginity is GODS marriage license not a peace of paper, but a peace of flesh. It was and still is the mans gift from his bride, proving she is pure, and fit for marriage. It is the token GOD gave the woman, to present to her husband, and to no one else...

If he doesn't want to try. why put her through the wash. It's his loss not hers. God is not going to punish her because she failed to get him to come back to her. And if Children are involved they don't need to be in the middle of that.
