I read some of the answers to your stay at home Mom ?, people are so ignorant. Keep your head up why you are going to work is nobody's business but yours. We are very much productive members of society. Let's see some of them figure out some of the things we have. I'd like to see them figure out how to calm a baby with an earache or stomach ache. And stay up all night and day and take care of the house and kids and husband. Heck some of them couldn't figure out the kids toy these days. Good luck

I work with one of these people. In his case, it is because he obviously had NO manners instilled in him as a child, and he simply doesn't know that his behavior is rude. So one moment he's telling a wretched story from his childhood, and if you make a comment back about what you would have done to him if you'd known him then, he'll shoot back, "That's just rude! Why would you have done that." So I guess, some people just don't know any better. But a reasonable adult should get the hint.

Because society focuses so much on entitlement and the self. People are selfish naturally. We live in a world that is dominated by people that strive for perfection.
Just smile and go on. You can't change people.
Take care.

It's ok for "me" to do, but "you" shouldn't do it!

Same reason it's ok to cut in front of someone in line, but you get mad if they say something to you! You're in a hurry and you're the only one that matters. (Not 'you' personally, but "you" as in the other person). I've noticed a lot lately that there is a huge amount of totally disrespectful activity: Stop light's red, you've waited as long as you want to - so pull out in front of the person who has the right of way...and cry when you get hit. Happens so often in Texarkana we used to call it Txk Suicide! One woman killed her MOTHER that way! And was in the paper quoted as saying she couldn't believe that other person just HIT her. All the witnesses said she sat at the red light a minute then floored it.

The 'golden rule' says: do to others as you want others to do to you. That's a great plan, I wish they still taught it to people!

People are generally selfish and self-centered.

I learned in a Psychology class that when we do something bad we give ourselves situational excuses (I cut that person off because I'm late for work), and that when we someone else does something bad we tend to attribute it directly to their personality (they cut me off because they're a jerk). I don't know why people work like that, but being aware of it, has helped me to catch myself sometimes and stop it.

The terrible culture of 'entitlement' that we have built in this country. People seem to think they are entitled to things with no consequences to their own actions.

Everyone needs to answer the question as they see fit and ask the question as they see fit. Why do we have to complain about every little things?

They're selfish! I hate that too. I treat everyone like I want to be treated.
Isn't that the fair way?

People are typically egocentric and only think of themselves but, to be fair, some people are also way too sensitive.
