Noticed some of your answers are regarding social security and working, if I have an australian social security no that nobody knew about and had it for years, could they still find me. II would also like to say that I am going there anyway so if I am not coming back and I have paid them ten times over already can they really get me over there, how ?

Geez I love these answers.

Do you have any idea just how hard it is to track someone when they leave the country? Then try to locate and serve them? Then try to collect?

Unless it's a very large debt you don't have to worry about it.

Just work hard and pay it off, it's not worth it. You may miss your friends and family when you're older. These are crazy things that young people decide without thinking long term. You can't run from your responsibilities. Pull it together and work at making it right. You'll feel like a millionaire just paying what you owe and you'll set a new standard for yourself, one that's worthy of the person you are inside. You can do whatever you put your mind to. But if you want happiness and no regrets, do the right thing. It'll be easier than you think.

You cannot escape debt because it will follow you with more fees and penalties adding to the debt you have. You can get a fresh start with bankruptcy if you qualify and then move where you want but realize that your credit rating is going to follow you for insurance rate, job opportunities, future credit needs, and more. The best fresh start you can give yourself is to evaluate your debt and make a plan and then follow that plan. Once you are debt free you can go where you want without the fears. Creditors can find you with your social security numbers and they will, garnishing wages and adding more legal and emotional turmoil to your life.

Depends upon the size of your debts. Small debts are not worth the expense of chasing you, large ones are. Why not declare BK, and then move? You'll sleep a lot better, and you can come home if things dont work out.

If the debt is over £500 then they will chase you.
When you start working in Auz you will pay taxes etc so they will be able to find you through that.

The people that you owe debts are very persuasive; they will track you indeed at one point.

If you have debts (credit cards, etc.), consider consolidation, which is "The combination of a certain number of loans, which benefits the borrower by extending its overall due date and allowing him/her to provide a single monthly payment. Consolidation is a form of financial aid that offers a reasonable and manageable interest rate, which is often average-weighted. "

You can not run away from what you owe. It would be better to talk to them and see if you can work out a payment schedule that will work for you. Most companies will work with you to get something rather than lose everything.
