The first week I lost 6 pounds! I think mybe it was all water weight. Then today I got on the scale and I've gained 2 pounds! I haven't cheated at all! I am not getting ready to start my period or anything like that, so does anyone know why this would happen?

Whatever system you are on, you will ups & downs. You can remain consistent and do the same things the same way every week.

Your body is responding to what you are doing to it. It responds differently at different weights.

At different stages, you have to increase your exercise/activity level to shed more weight. Your body is burning fat and building muscle. To lose inches, you will want to do specific exercises for specific areas.

Don't worry about gaining 2 pounds. Stay on track and stay focused.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

Why are you stepping on the scale now? Don't step on the scale more than once a week. Your weight naturally fluctuates from day to day, and also depending on the time of day. Just stick to the program and step on the scale when you would weigh in at the end of the second week. You'll probably notice a loss by then. And if not, maybe your body's going to need a little time to adjust to this new eating plan. Not everyone loses immediately after starting a diet. Some people need an adjustment period for their bodies to realize that it's time to lose. Keep the faith. Patience will reap rewards.

NutriSystem is a great program for people that need to get on a portion controlled diet. Most people eat more than what is needed, so NutriSystem helps half the battle of weight loss. That is why you most likely lost that initial weight.

However if you want to continue to lose, you must get on a regular exercise program. You do not have to be a marathon runner to do so! Just being active for a little bit during the day, and remaining dedicated to that workout is a good way to lose weight.

Try little things too in additiona to a workout. Park on the far end of the parking lot at work, so that you have to walk a little further; groccery store, etc. Walk short distances instead of drive. These will all help you get into shape and lose weight.

Don't crash diet or crash workout or else it will discourage you. Try little steps and have a lot of patience and dediation. You will get there!

Good luck :)

You did probably lose a lot of water weight the first week. Try adding some daily aerobic exercise to your weight loss program.
