If that is the case, I have displayed much much love in my lifetime. I was a nurse.

I wouldn't say it's the "ultimate" sacrifice at all. If you ever have a loved one who needs this care, you'll do it. Just like I have with my children.

It's an example of love, yes. But it is not the definition of love. That would be more general, like, putting the good of another ahead of your own. That's what Jesus did on the Cross.

no it is not as this is a part of the love caring process. there was a man who married just before going off to the Viet Nam war. while there he was in a mine explosion losing all of his limbs with nothing left to attach artificial limbs to. he wired his wife and explained if she wanted a divorce he would understand as there was no way he could take care of himself being nothing but a torso. his wife wired back telling him she loved him and was planning on getting pregnant when he got home. this couple now have three of the sweetest children and one of the happiest homes I've ever seen.

The ultimate sacrifice:
Greater love has no man than to lay down his life for his friends.

no the ultimate sacrifice is being nailed to a cross and spending three days in Hell for strangers that curse your name and denies you.

It happens to be what mothers do for their children, from love, they don't usually count it as a sacrifice.
