No but you sound homophobic. Soldiers are heroes whether they are white, black, yellow, gay or straight... plain & simple, heroes. Fraternity brothers spend alot of time together, as do girlfriends. They like the comraderie. It seems unfortunate that maybe you don't know what it's like to have true friends, the kind that would carry you through anything or walk beside you through life.
Relax... have a good night's sleep tonight. My son the soldier is in Iraq right now. He has your back.

According to Pentagon:
"It's discriminatory and robbing the military of talented men and women who want to serve. It's unnecessary. We've seen bans lifted among our closest allies. In Iraq and Afghanistan, Americans are serving alongside openly gay British troops."
The Pentagon no longer deems homosexuality a mental disorder, officials said on Wednesday, although the reversal has no impact on U.S. policy prohibiting openly gay people from serving in the military.
I am getting some kind of mental disorder by this entire zigzag.

The military is made up of a large group of individuals, some are gay, some are straight, some are tall, short, Christian, Muslim, fat, thin, male, female, whatever. To make that kind of sweeping generalization is both disrespectful and rude. What our servicemen and women have in common is a Love of their country, loyalty, integrity, honor, courage, and willingness to serve. I say this as someone with a family tradition of U.S. military service going back to the Revolutionary War, who spent 20 years on active duty, from the tail end of Nam through all of Desert Storm, and whose daughter is on active duty today in the Navy.

Just because they spend time with the same sex doesn't make one gay.

Not reinvent.
Our soldiers are the best in the world. I may not agree with what is going on, but I am not going to ask such a question. Our men and women, gay or not are fighting for our country. They deserve our support, and any help we can give them and their families.

we're only around the same sex exclusively in training, but only at some installations..all of my training was co-ed. having friends in the military with you (battle buddies) is a lot different than having civilian friends. it's hard to explain. i guess it's the fact that the friends you have in the military are also the ones you depend on in combat to watch your back and protect you. we are like family to one another so i guess one ignorant to all this could perceive that as being gay. just as i perceive you as being a fuhqing jack@$$.

I'm sure there are some that aren't .
But you would be surprised at how many are. I've known quite a few that are married just to make it look like they aren't. Usually married to a lesbian soldier. Isn't that convenient.
But they still do a great job of protecting our country.

Some are. But the obviously gay behaviour has to be kept strictly under wraps because persecution is a very real problem.

I'm always amazed at the stupid questions asked on here, but I believe you win the prize! Grow up ,learn some facts and learn to show some respect for the people who are our country's defenders. Maybe if you'd do your patriotic duty and join you would find out.
