Soups? cassaroles? I had this great panamanian dish when I was a kid, and for the life of me, I cannot remember it. Plus, I want some great ideas. This is one legume I rarely cook with, and I am tired of the same old same.......HELP!!!!

Have you tried Hoppin' John? It's a good traditional New Year's dish for good luck. A recipe is on epicurious.com.

Hi, here's a favorite of mine - Boil Blackeyed peas for 1/2 hr., change the water, add salt, chicken or veg. stock cube, Squash ( cut ), and Cabbage (cut). Boil until tender, then serve with oil & lemon. Also as a complimentary dish, Tuna salad with tuna, parsley, lettuce, oil and lemon,

I would think anything you serve with a side of a NECKID Fergie ( from the Black eyed peas) would go over well
