Religious belief has nothing to do with evidence. Brain studies have shown that the parts of the brain associated with reasoning are not used when a believer discusses or debates religious issues. When you ask a religious person about their beliefs, the answer will be non-sensical gibberish. As long as you deeply and spiritually believe in a religion, you can not think about it reasonably. That's not always a bad thing; belief that the Pharaohs were Divine built the pyramids of Egypt. It allowed early civilizations to exist. It is the world's oldest con game. Those who have been conned will never know it.
Scientific truth and religious 'Truth' are two incompatible concepts. There is a creator of the universe, but it is not what the any of the major religions believe, or what any scientist now knows.
There are nuts out there who will believe anything, as has been proved by some of the religious cults.

You tip your bias by calling the Bible a "storybook" and a fossil "evidence". I am more then happy to subject the Bible and every other book to scrutiny but lets look at the evidence for each of them. The Bible has shown itself to be historically accurate, corroborated by extra biblical sources. It has shown itself to be accurate in its prophetic forth tellings. The eyewitnesses who testified to Biblical events are numerous. The sixty six books written over thousands years by various authors are consistent. The integrity of the Bible was, in part, validated through the discovery of the dead sea scrolls. No other book in history has the historic and prophetic credibility that the Bible has. There is ample evidence that the Bible is accurate.
What other evidence, other then the opinion of some scientists and an untestable method of dating do we have for the validity of what is said about the fossil?

So....if evolution is true what difference will that make? If a fossil is found and someone much smarter then I tells me all about how things were millions of years ago what happens then? We evolved from what, and for what purpose?
Do we actually believe that we are so smart today that we can see millions of years into the past? If that is so then we should be able to see into the future. Tell me where the process of evolution is going to end. And again what is the point?

Because if you study the fossil for yourself rather than taking it as to what most people say then you would realize that it actually will ground your belief in the word of God the Bible. Fossils are real and they represent what the world was going through at that time.
Some people think Job 41:1, NIV, is talking about dinosaurs. "Can you pull in the leviathan with a fishhook or tie down his tongue with a rope?” Or Job 40:15, “Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.“ There are many other verses in the Bible about dragons that are considered references about dinosaurs, as well. Most Bible scholars suggest that the descriptions in Job are of crocodiles or of hippopotamus. Both lived in the Near East in those days. It is tempting to think that dragons are a faded memory of dinosaurs, but we cannot be sure. We can only speculate.
Some scientists have a hard time explaining the reason they became extinct so suddenly. What happened? The answer can be found in the Bible, in the story of the world-wide flood in Genesis 7:1 – Genesis 8:1, TLB. “Finally the day came when the Lord said to Noah, "Go into the boat with all your family, for among all the people of the earth, I consider you alone to be righteous. Bring in the animals - a pair of each, except those kinds I have chosen for eating and for sacrifice: take seven pairs of each of them, and seven pairs of every kind of bird. Thus there will be every kind of life reproducing again after the flood has ended. One week from today I will begin forty days and nights of rain; and all the animals and birds and reptiles I have made will die."
In Genesis 6:12 we find the answer. “And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” Satan, the being who rebelled against God, cannot create, but he can change. The entrance of sin into the world allowed Satan to corrupt humans and other living creatures. Now we have leaves changed to thorns, teeth changed to poison fangs, genes changed into viruses and useful bacteria into disease producers. Satan corrupted some of the reptiles God originally created into the bizarre creatures we call dinosaurs. God chose not to save them at the time of the Flood. Perhaps God also saw that feeble post-flood humans would not be able to control such large animals. Thus, we suggest that God preserved the air-breathing, land animals, except the very large animals and the corrupted ones.

I believe every word of the Bible litelly as it is written. It is written n the Gospel of John that every word is 'God-inspired'.
I'm tired of the old 'dinosaurs prove the Bible wrong' argument.
In Job 40, there is a perfect description of a dinosaur. a 'behemoth' with a tail like a cedar tree that eats grass as an ox. This is a perfect description of a brontosaurus. Other cultures also describe dinosaur-like creatures, some of these descriptions dating back to Biblical times.
And you are also worng about Christian belief being that other holy books are rubbish- I believe that Christianity s the one true faith, but I have tolerance for the beliefs of others
and of their holy writings. Jesus is also mentioned in the QU'ran as well.
I use the Bible as a spiritual guide and as the Word Of God. I am rational also, believing in creationism and other sciences such as astronomy and forensics.
Not all Christians are brainwashed fanatics.

I am sorry that you do not understand but the words of the Bible are God breathed that were written by men protected by God to ensure that his messgae got through. As far as dating fossils that is a man made idea not a God made idea of how to date something. I respect everyones right to chose what to believe maybe you just need to accept that there are differences and that is life.

NOT!
The Holy Bible writings began before Abraham with Job.
The first recorded instance of God’s Word being written down, was when the Lord Himself wrote it down in the form of ten commandments on the stone tablets delivered to Moses at the top of Mount Sinai. Biblical scholars believe this occurred between 1,400 BC and 1,500 BC… almost 3,500 years ago. The language used was almost certainly an ancient form of Hebrew, the language of Old Covenant believers.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline. Listen, my son, to your father's instruction and do not forsake your mother's teaching. They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck. My son, if sinners entice you, do not give in to them. Proverbs 1:7-10 NIV (Listen

I have seen no rational evidence that was found recently that says anything about the bible being wrong in any way but only evidence that it is inspired by God and is very accurate. May be a storybook but sure is a lot more accurate than anything in science that i ahve seen.

Sometimes I wonder if the people who wrote the Bible would've wrote it differently if they knew that, two thousand years later, people would be taking it as literally as they do right now.
Also, a common argument against scientists, at least on this site, seems to be, "Well, have YOU looked at the fossils? How can you trust THEIR word? Were YOU around four billion years ago to see what happened?!" No I wasn't. But I also wasn't around to see God create the world, or Jesus perform any miracles, or rise from the dead. So you can see how that kind of logic leads to nowhere.
