did you ever install google desktop? if yes than serach for it on google desktop, you might be suprised, let us know if it helped. also if its something that you got on email as an attachment you might look in inbox,

Sorry. I hear that one a lot. Once you save the document there is nothing to go back to or "recover" except the version you saved. If you can find the original file in an email - you can start over, or if you saved it on a server at work - your IT group might be able to restore it from the previous night's backup tape.
It may not help now, but for next time try to create a habit of saving 2 versions of your files. Instead of Save, click Save As, and use a similar name. you can flip back and forth saving over them, but it does give you a way to go back one step.
If it helps you can add the Save As button on your toolbar, from View - Toolbars - Customize, and drag the Save As button to the toolbar.

If you haven't resaved the document you MIGHT be able to 'undo' the changes of deleting. Ctrl Z
