Actually, I saw a special documentary on the subject. And, the best evidence they had was this woman in England who always had dreams about a little cottage in Scotland, and church nearby. The dreams were reccurring, and she often saw children who were sad in them and she was desturbed by it. She had therapy, hypnotic regression, and alot more details came out that led her and her therapist to believe it was from a past life, she even came up with her previous name. The woman finally decided she had to try to find these places she kept seeing in her dreams. So she went to Scotland and found the places that she had sketched from her dreams. But that wasn't enough, she researched the history of the ruins of the cottage she found and saw an old picture that looked just like her, of a woman who had died in childbirth many years ago. She instantly felt she had found who she was in a past life, and started to look up the children who had been left motherless. They were all very old, but also recognized her as their mother and were very happy to see her. She tracked them all down and brought them together. All of them had been seperated at the time of their mother's death, and adopted out. A few of them didn't know they had any siblings until this happened. After the woman returned home, the dreams of her pastlife and sad children were gone. So it seemed her past-identity had found closure, and could rest. I don't know if it was true or not, but it was very convinceing. The old picture really looked like the woman. And all of the children were convinced it was true.

There have been several very credible studies done on reincarnation. Below is a link that lists one of the key books that validates this theory. Couple this with the idea that every religion and cultural group on the planet has some idea of concept of reincarnation and you have a 'universal truth'.

No. The only experience possible would be Near Death Experiences, and these can be produced in controlled laboratory situations -- and as I highly doubt the afterlife is subject to scientific rules, this tends to rule out the use of these experiences as evidence or proof of an afterlife.

I believe it is the most likely hypothesis, but I cannot prove it. I do not exhibit it as a fact, that is wrong...
