This guy im kinda seeing acts SO much different around me than he does his friends. Around his friends he acts like we're just "buddies" but in private we're more than that. He doesn't aknowledge me as someone he is "seeing" - and even tho we're not "officially" together, his actions when we're alone speek otherwise. we've talked about it, and he says he doesnt want it to be kept a secret, but he hasen't acted upon anything or taken the chance to show people that he likes me. Is this normal?

There is some reason he is hiding this relationship and I think he must be embarrassed to have his friends know.
I'd seriously think about whether this is the sort of relationship you want to be in.

most answers are saying that he might be ashamed of you but i don't agree (sorry everyone). Have you ever seen him with any other girls that he was "seeing"? He might just be one of those people that doesn't like to show his feelings in public. My husband is the same way....it was weird for me at first too cause i love to show my affections towards people but he wasn't comfortable with that. If you have talked to him about it and truely care about him, just learn (like i had to) to accept that he is a private person and do all the mushy stuff at home when you two are alone together. If he didn't care about you or only wanted you two to be buddies then why would he take you around his friends at all?!!! If he wanted you to be his little secret, he would never take you around his friends!!!

Tell him to get lost! If you care for someone there should be no reason to keep it a secret! If you are then there has to be a reason and that reason couldn't be anything worth your time (like having an affair or just wanting someone to have sex with) to keep them around. Think about it why can't everyone know? Take the time to find someone that will let the world know your his.

He doesnt want others to know about ur relationship with him... Be careful as everyone will blame u if something happens... as everybody would know that he considered u just as a friend... I would suggest that either u talk to him and ask him to accept u in front of everyonr or u leave him... if he luvs u really he must accept u in public

Do not expect too much from him..
Any guy who is ashamed or do not want to show his feelings towards his gf in public, then he is just a no good guy,, just using you.
A guy who loves a girl will always be proud of her and show her off anywehre in the world.
Thus, what he is doing to you is not normal.

if he didn't want it to be a secret then it wouldn't be. he just wants a good time girl and he doesn't want anyone to know it's you. If he loved you then he would want the world to know.Keeping it a secret is keeping you on the market and he doesn't care if everyone see you as single.

He wants you stay around as a "friend with benefits"...it sounds like he is just feeding you everything you want to hear.
I suggest you tell him that you want to be official...otherwise don't waste your time...seems like you want a relationship, but maybe he doesn't. Be honest about what you want and carefully listen to what he says, you will be able to tell if he is being upfront with you.

I been married for 20 yrs and yes men are just not in too showing infection in public old days most men are taught too keep it behind close door

Drop the bum NOW! If you treated him the same way wouldn't he DROP you-the ball is in your court sweetie! Don't take that kind of emotional abuse, it's not normal-and it just shows you what kind of person he really is-NOT NICE!
