Back in the 80's they were considered the norm. No big deal. Looking back, I think they were a bigger deal than we thought. Every one you sleep with will leave some impression on you for life. Maybe good, bad or not much at all. With all the looneys and diseases out there, I wouldn't at all. Even tho there is something kind of exciting about the one nighter, I just don't think it's a good idea. Quite honestly, I never felt really good about it in the long run. Always felt just a bit ashamed and remorseful.

Dizzy, first you need to undestand that a one night stand is just that one night, no attachments, no calls the next day, no emotional connection, just physicial!
Second make sure it isn't' someone that you value their friendship, because it could change the way you both look at each other.
So what I am saying is that if you both agree there are no connections and you just want sex, and make sure it's safe then yes it's ok! There is nothing wrong with it if you both agree!
A lot of times it works out better because maybe you are not ready to settle down, just choose your partner wisely???????

I think they are a good thing. If two mature people are the ones involved and they both know that it is a one night stand this way no one gets hurt, I say go for it. You only live once. Just remember Protection, Protection, Protection!! You do not want to regret anything later!

Nothing wrong with them. Sometimes a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do!! The only problem is that men like to spread the wealth so if you do something like that in a place that you go do frequently, most likely other men will be trying to do the same thing. Then the woman is the one that winds up with the bad reputation.

I think they are a great to get the blood pumping, Providing both parties understand that its only a one night stand and nothing else. I have heard of many going bad though.

It depends on what you, personally, are looking for and whether or not you're "safe" about it. If you aren't ready for an emotional relationship but still crave sex, which we all do, then go for it, as long as you aren't sleeping around with hundreds of men, unprotected, you should be ok. Oh, and make sure to get tested for STD's every once in a while.

It might be good who needs to make money in difficult situation but one needs protection after all this is your life and your body dont you have the need to save you from dieasees. If with one person and he is your boy friend also and you love each other and intend to lead the life together and want to have marriage then ok i think.

If between consenting adults...no strings attached and all that...and it is done responsibly...both people can have fun..then it is good.

If not done responsibly, if consent may be wanting or unclear due to too much drink, if someone is led to believe its going to become something more..then i say its a bad thing because of the consequences.
