i'm latino and that i dont think of spanish will ever be the professional language right here in u . s .. Now what i think of is going to take place is that english will become between the main important laguanges in Latin American in all probability in ten or 20 yrs from now maximum of latin u . s . would be bilingual, and u can see this already occurring. i be attentive to that many human beings haven't any information of this yet i watch television shows and information from necessary and south american international places and that i've got observed that english words or words are getting used further and added in many situations on television. Many peopel in latin u . s . desires to check english and now studying english has become much less complicated considering that there are extra faculties that instruct english for low fees. I dont see u . s . transforming into a bilingual u . s . (properly perhaps some areas) yet i do see latin u . s . transforming into bilingual cuz they have the could study english on an identical time as human beings do no longer in all probability want to communicate the different language yet english. when I heard somebody asserting: "if u talk in easy terms one language then u are an american"

English as the official language was clearly the intent of the founding fathers. After all, it is the language they wrote the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution in!
How can any immigrants, legal or illegal, expect to be considered for naturalization if they make no effort to learn the language that the documents which are the foundation of this nation!
What language you speak in your home is your business. The language you use to conduct business in The United States Of America should be English, as it is the standard means of communication in the country, as well as the language ALL of our laws are written in. And English as an official language should already be one of those laws, and getting this done should concern all LEGAL CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY.

I agree that immigrants did in fact build this country. But they were legal immigrants that went thru the legal process to become a citizen. They came in a assimilated into our society as quickly as they could. They learned to speak English which is the language of our people .But this illegal group doesn't wish to assimilate, they in fact think we should assimilate into their cultural and language. They want to change America into the country they left behind and could not survive in because of poverty, corruption etc.And yet they expect us to change America into a replica of the nation they left.
Yes English needs to be declared legally the official language of this country before we become a bi,tri or an infinite number of different languages .The cost of bilingualism is enormous and just wrong. This is an English speaking country(I know that people from England will dispute that lol) and we need it to remain that way.I do not want my heritage stripped from my ancestors by illegals from all over the world demanding rights that they do not have any right too.
English
No amnesty
Deportation not legalization
Vote in NOvember
Make Washington listen to Legal
Americans
Try looking at this video and you will see just why English must be the official language of this country

No. What a proposterous idea. Why would we. What next? Then they stop teaching foreign languages in school. What ignorant people we would be. 1st point. What we speak in the USA is not true English. True English is spoken in England. We have a language that which is basically derived from English but has terms and words that come from native American Indians, Germans etc. Not to leave any race out that has contributed to our beautiful language which I will coin UNITED STATES English. England laughs at us for what they call a destruction of English.

You know, I have heard a lot of talk over the years about people thinking it arrogant of some Americans to expect people to speak English to them in foreign countries. I always agreed. Now we are told we are arrogant if we expect illegals in our country to speak English. What is wrong with this picture? It seems that it's as okay to discriminate against Americans in general as it is to discriminate against white people in particular. We can't please these illegals and their supporters no matter how far we bend over and take it from them. So yes, let's stop coddling the whiners and take all aspects of our culture back. If they don't like it they can always leave, as we owe them nothing.

Nice dreaming but its never going to happen.Your right that people who are here should take the time to learn English but as far as it being the official language.I don't think that's going to be possible as long as people see dollar signs in the growing hispanic community and want to tap into that market.Otherwise why do you think that many people have the "se habla espanol" sign on their businesses. They don't care what language the people speak as long as they have money and spend it in their business. So yeah good luck with that.

English doesn't need to be the official language. It won't change anything, you need to get the bigger picture here and that's going after the businesses that hire illegals and instead of looking the other way or giving them a slap on the wrist we need to start handing out jail time and huge fines.

im sure u can. go rally
but u do know that theres still gonna be people who dont speak english, n theyll be legal. like puerto ricans, they can just move from puerto rico to here n not speak a word of english.
n if english does become the official language, wat will that do about the illegals? theyll still cross the border, whether they speak english or not, n theyll still speak watever language here.
n maybe it should be "english language only" cuz just sayin "english" makes it sound like only english people are allowed.

You can have Congress make it the "SUPER" official language of the U.S.A., but it won't do or change a thing... Besides, who will police this? Will you arrest someone for speaking Spanish?
Have you been to Miami lately...?
