Everyone keeps asking us what I want for our wedding next week and we have no idea. We've asked for some frames and albums. but we don't want to many of them. Our house is already set up so we don't need anything and we are going to move to another country in a few years so we don't want anything to big or breakable. Can anyone suggest some practable idea's ?

there's always donating to charity in your name, or sponsoring a foreign child in your name, planting a tree at a local park in your name. maybe something to commerate your wedding like personalized glasses with the date, a quilt with your names & wedding date ebroidered, someone got us a wedding clock & put a picture of us with our names & dates engraved. maybe if they're people you've known for a long time you could ask them to bring an album of family pictures past and present so you can grow your collection of pictures. or ask someone to make you a memory album of your wedding (inluding pictures, an invitation that sort of thing). someone gave my cousin an album of all of our ancestors wedding pictures. maybe someone can buy you a couples massage at a spa so you can relax either right before or after the big day.

Hope it helps! good luck!

I read somewhere about buying vouchers at a favorite restaurant - that may be nice to look foward to after the excitement of the wedding is over.

What about a wine list?

There are some sites that offer honeymoon packages - could you use one of these for guests to contribute to your moving to a different country fund?

Get disposiable cameras and place one at each table and have the guest take pictures of the reception and after the honeymoon, You collect the pictures and place them in a album. Then that way you can get everyones perspective on what they saw at the reception. I love that Idea.

What we did for our cousins who were living together and had all they needed for the house was to video tape the wedding for them(if you didn't hire someone to do it) you can also have someone take candid pics of the wedding and reception for you because you wont be able to see everything that goes on and it is nice to see what you missed.

One idea that I saw that was unique was a personalized throw with the couples wedding picture or engagement picture on it with the names and wedding date.

That is tough! But you must want something. Any appliances that you don't have? What about storage bins, (would be helpfull for packing for your move) Or closet organizers, stuff to organize your things. I find I can never have too much of that stuff, and wherever you live organization is nice.

If you're going on a honeymoon, you could request gifts for that. Otherwise, tell them something to assist you in moving. That's a tough one. Good luck.

Sounds like it's time to pick a few charities and have people make donations in your names. For example, buying cows for families in Africa, a church, etc.

gift cards for grocery stores(you always will need food) resteraunts, (even after the wedding you can enjoy a quiet dinner out), money, and the obvious GAS cards (for our rising gas prices)
