It's very refeshing and can provide natural anti-oxidants.

It's wrong to say the drink has as much caffeine as coffee - this is a popular confusion; in fact the raw leaves and beans have a bout the same level, but you need much less tea to make one bew-up!

The National Cancer Center Research Institute in Tokyo suggests that "Drinking tea may be one of the most practical methods of cancer prevention available at present".*
Green tea has been shown to lower the occurrence of all types of cancers, with more significant decreases in digestive and urinary tract cancers. In animal studies, green tea applied topically was repeatedly shown to protect the skin against cancerous changes and slow the progression of skin cancer. Research has shown tea to be helpful in inhibiting esophageal, stomach, colon, rectal, liver, pancreatic, bladder, breast, and lung cancers. Tea has also been shown to benefit white blood cells during chemotherapy treatment.

Tea has been used as an aid for weight loss. Drinking a cup of tea with each meal is a protocol for using tea successfully as a metabolic stimulant. Tea by itself carries only 4 calories per serving, and it's most healthy when consumed with nothing added. The caffeine in tea increases body function to help burn more calories and the polyphenols seem to aid in the digestion of fat, truly making it a Chinese diet tea.. Pu-erh and Oolong teas have received the most attention regarding weight loss, but all types of tea offer a low calorie alternative to commercial beverages.

disadvantages:
Generally, tea bags are chosen for its ease of use and disposability. In brewing, though, too much tannin can be released too quickly, giving a harsher brew. Bags also loose their freshness more quickly, staying fresh, under ideal conditions, only six months, whereas, loose leaf tea will last for up to two years. However, for those who wish to keep tea bags for occasions when time is short, some producers and blenders are preparing quality, specialty teas in bags.

you pee alot and it helps clean your system out. But if you drink to much it can causes a kidney infection just like if you drink to much pop. And if you just sit and pour 10 gallons of sugar in it you are going to be bouncing off the walls.
