If nature is so complex it had to be designed by a god... then isn't god so complex it had to be designed by another god?
If we except that god simply has always simply existed... then maybe nature & the universe (in some form) has always just simply existed too, without the help of a god.

You are Right. God Is an invention of man, not the other way around.

Yep. Creationists have introduced a fatal flaw in their 'Intelligent Design' arguments, by asserting that the 'complexity' of creation demands a 'creator'.

The main argument for a creator seems to be 'complexity'; i.e., something as complex as the universe and the earth and life must have a creator... it is the only thing that makes sense. But, if you think about it (Christians are not renowned for their critical thinking ability), it makes no sense at all.

The argument implies that a complex creation requires that the creator must be more complex than the creation... otherwise, the creator would have been unable to create it. But IF complexity requires a more complex creator, THEN the fact of the creator's complexity means that it must also have been created. Remember, according to this argument, complexity cannot arise by itself. That being the case, then, we end up with an infinite regression... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... etc... ad infinitum... ad nauseum.

That, of course, is impossible... and thus, so is the concept of a creator... IF the argument for a creator is predicated on 'complexity'.

The simple observable fact, though, is that complexity arises from simplicity, in accordance with elementary natural rules.

Interested parties should look up "self-organizing complex systems".

To Jim Darwin-when someone has nothing to say they insult those who do-----

No. Intelligent design does not prove that god cannot exist. If you look at the complexity of the universe it is difficult to believe that the creation of it was due to some cosmic accident. If it was it was most fortunate. A mile closer to the sun earth burns up-a mile away we freeze solid. Someone once said it would be like dropping thousands and thousands of 2x4 pieces of wood from a mile up and when they landed they created houses...Not impossibe perhaps but probable?

I think the universe and all of the delicate balance it is in and has to be in to survive point more to the existence of god than no god.

It absolutely doesn't prove anything. Can you truly believe
a Big Bang formed this beautiful Universe? Can you trace
your family tree to apelike ancestors? Could a Big Bang
form languages, design, spider webs, transitional fossils,
humans with brains to think (and the list goes on........).
I don't think so but if you want to believe it, go ahead. You
believing in a God designing another God doesn't change the
fact that the God of the Universe CREATED this world and
everything in it, from a void to light, dark, water, air, animals,
ground, forest, plains, etc. It still happened that way whether
anyone believes it or not.

I believe that we will never know until the end of our lives, but your question is well suited. Intelligent design is based on the theory that life is so complex that some sort of a deity had to of taken place-let's go back to this- christians believe this, jews believe that, and so on.....and every other religon since the beginning of religons have different answers that they all call truth. Science, in my eyes has two possible arguments...the first is the creation of all things by spiritual means, and the second(the one i agree with) evolution in some way or form over billions of years- who's to say that only life can come from life? science has getting close to proving it! So in some ways, Intellligent design is possible, but an over all "DESIGN" for life-seems a bit far fetched if you look at the world today. By the way God, in a literal since is perfect in all forms. If there is a God in the spiritual since, and he, she, it is watching over us doing nothing to better our situations-watching kids die, **** it!!!!!!!!!!!

God designed everything. God is so complex he could not have been designed. He exist outside of time and space and is not limited by them since he created them. Everything has a purpose that was created and our purpose his to serve God as all of his creation should do since he loves us and wants the best for us. Revelation 22:13 states that he is the alpha and the omega the beginning and the end. We cannot define God, it is impossible. However, if you plan to be in heaven and going for the mark then you will have eternity to understand God. Sin has barred us from what God is really is and if we love Him he is willing to show us who he his and that he loves us.

No it doesn't prove that at all.

What it does prove is the limitations of the human mind no matter how technologically advanced we are as a group.

God, the awesome uncreated Creator of the universe IS. He always was and He always will be.

I encourage you to read The Bible because it is the Word of the infinite Creator to the very finite creation. He wants us to know Him but when we try to figure things out on our own we don't even come close. We need His help.

No, it proofs that nature it is so complex that your tiny little mind cannot comprehend nature or God.

Only God the master and creator of ALL things has the power to create such great things this includes our very being.
From this tiny little planet to the to the heavens above and beyond it was all God perfect plan of creation.

To all of those who agree with Darwinism:

By your own scientific "laws", matter can be neither destroyed nor created naturally, only altered in form. Therefore, no matter how far you want to take evolution back, there must be a "source" of the original matter. Furthermore, this "source" must not be governed by our human laws of time, space and science.

Honestly, it takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does to believe in Intelligent Design.

Spooky, if I were still young, slender and single, I'd be callin' you up in a heartbeat! Yum, YUM! As to your question - Intelligent design is a pathetic attempt to instil legitimacy into religiosity. It simply does not work. The conundrum you describe is exactly why! Jeez, young, pretty and smart, too. Where were you when I was a young warthog??? Dang!

Intelligent design is the result of weak willed Catholics and so called liberal Christians (which they are not!) selling out to a bunch of godless humanists.

The universe was created by God. It does not take a genius to see that.
