Eating up to 90 minutes after is the proper window; metabolism is highest then.

After, assuming you have eaten something a few hours before. you don't want to wake up and start excercising without having eaten anything all night. Your body will go for the fastest energy source and will start burning muscle, not fat. If you eat right before you workout you will likely get cramps. Also when you're full you won't work out as hard. So eat a light meal a couple of hours before and then have a full meal a couple of hours after.

Always eat a good meal a few hours before a workout. This will keep up your energy during exercise and allow you to have a much longer and successful workout (thereby allowing you the most calories burned). After the workout, eat again. Your body continues to burn calories for an hour after a good workout.

Working out in the mornings has been proven to boost the metabolism more..
Have a snack like an apple or pear before your workout for energy and to already get the metabolism working,it's a bad idea working out on an empty stomach anyway..then go excercise..
After the workout have a nutricious and healthy breakfast...and enjoy the feeling of being healthier.

I really have no idea, I'm not a fitness expert or anything. But I lost 65 pounds after my last baby and I would exercise before eating, then after working out I'd immediately have something with dairy, like a thing of yogurt usually. Then after showering and stuff, I'd eat a sensible snack or meal.

I've heard both ways so much, that I don't really know. But I know what has worked for me is to work out before I eat.

If you are weight training, it is really important to make sure you eat protein within one hour after your workout.

After. Not just because it makes me feel SICK to workout AFTER I eat, but because your metabolism gets kicked up into a higher gear for at least an hour after exercise, so you burn more calories afterwards than before.

It's a good idea to eat something like a banana, which is an energy food about an hour before a work out. It helps to keep your energy level up during your work out. Apart from that, wait until after your w.o. to eat. Your metabolism should be raised from the w.o. & you should continue to burn the calories. Don't foget to drink lots of water every day & during your w.o.

It would make more sense, logically, to do it before you work out...BUT...I have learned to eat after you work out . You have better metabolism and will utilize your intake of calories instead of storing it. The blood circulation has a lot to do with it. So after is the best way to burn calories.
