I do....looks will be gone after a certain age. So...why fall for something that's only going to be there for u temporarily. Personality is what keeps a relationship and yourself alive and well.

I do, but here's the thing: in order for personality to trump looks, you've actually got to have a great personality. Many people who blather on about personality being more important than looks are average looking people with average personalities.If you want your personality to outshine anything in the room, it truly has to shine. Being "nice" is not usually enough. There are plenty of nice pretty people out there.

I live by that rule, but the reality is...
You either have to know the person for a while and their looks have to "grow" on you. Or, you have to be attracted to the person in the first place in order to meet him or her and find out what their personality is really like.
People say that personality is more important (even my girlfriend), but at the same time, some girls won't talk to guys who dress a certain way, or who are too short (or too tall), or who have tattoos, or who sport gold teeth (grillz). They shun those types of guys, but they will still claim personality is more important. Some guys won't talk to big girls, or skinny girls, or girls with kids, but they still claim that they go for personality.
If you don't know the person, you have to be attracted by him or her physically before you can even get to the point of liking him or her for the personality.
Either it has to be the eyes, hair, looks, booty, feet, legs, or whatever.
Now... if the person's personality gets a chance to shine, say for instance in classroom or with a group of common friends, BEFORE you actually meet and you become mesmerized or whatver, then, yeah, it could happen that way. But you still won't know the person for his or her personality. You only know how he or she is in that particular situation.
The bottom line is: You have to have time and interaction to be attracted to the personality or... you have to go off of looks. Period.

I do most of the time, but u can't help being attracted to someone physically if they're good looking when u first meet them. On the other hand i think most guys think looks is more important than personality.

initially we all go by looks (we dont just see someone and say "hey, look at the personality on that guy") but you cant just keep anything going based on looks solely. I think I would be more likely to take to a mediocre looking person with a nice personality than a beautiful god with the personality of a rock!

I do, although the outside of the physical aspect of the person is what we see first. I am one of those guys that no matter how beautiful the other person is, if your personality sucks or is not a positive one I just dont talk to you. That is just my personal opinion.

i do...i give everybody the benefit of the doubt. a personality is something that you will have forever, looks aren't. i'm not the best looking person on the block but i have a great personality. i have a lot of friends for that reason.

it is true for me that personality is more important than looks but I don't think that it is wrong or somehow shallow to pay attention to looks as well, a person is a combination of both things and taking care of your looks and health in general is a way of loving yourself. :))))))))

that's true personality is more important......the real thing is a lot of people judge the people for how it looks......so all depends .
for me is the personality but that doesn't mind you don't have to take care of your appearance is very important....if you love yourself you will!!!
