It sound like the puppy got accepted by your cat and is considered to have some play value. Cats when stimiulated even in play become much rougher that puppies. When a cat has had enough it is enough and it will warn the puppy to stop. That is what you are seeing here and if the puppy persists the cat will either disappear or become agressive. Let them sort this out themselves.

They're playing - if your cat was serious he'd scratch that puppy to ribbons! The cat is teaching the puppy some boundaries and the puppy is very young, so learning will take a while. It sounds like they'll be fine together given time. One thing though, you need to keep an eye on them that the cat always has a way out so things don't escalate - I've had a puppy get clawed in the eye and you don't want that to happen.

puppies bite everything when they're little. I have a husky puppy and he bites other dogs and jumps on them. Your cat is a little older and more mature and the puppy is probably getting just a little annoying. But as your puppy gets older he will grow out of it but you should not let him do it. If he starts to bite the cat tap him on the nose and say "no bite" strongly. If it perseveres put the puppy in a space where it cannot get to the cat. Put it somewhere you reserve for punishments. He will soon realise he is doing something wrong.

Your puppy loves your cat but your cat is only tolerating the puppy. In time the cat will come to love the puppy and begin to play with it as well. Right now the cat is concerned with the pecking order of the household. As soon as the cat establishes itself as the lead pet she will be more relaxed around the dog.

I don't think they are playing, but it's probably not a big deal anyway.
It sounds like the puppy is saying "hey please play with me", while the cat is eventually saying "screw off".
As the puppy gets older he will care less and less about harassing the cat. Once he reaches that stage where he doesn't bug the cat so much, they will get along great and probably curl up and sleep together. My mom has a dog and 2 cats and we went through the same thing - at first the cats were a novel thing and the dog couldn't leave them alone. But they worked it out on their own.

I think your puppy and your cat is learning how to interact. It's a gradual process, and it will absolutely take time. Unless one is really harming the other (meaning drawing blood), then I would let them resolve things on their own. Soon, your puppy will learn how far he can go with your cat, and vice versa.
That's what puppies do with their own litter to figure out where he or she belongs (rank), and I think it's an important socializing process.

They are going to get along fine. Right now the puppy doesn't know when enough is enough, and that is only because the puppy is still a puppy.

They're playing. If the cat was really afraid of the pup he would run away and hide. Don't seperate them, let them get used to each other while the dog is a pup so you won;t have problems when the dog gets older.

Sounds like they'll soon be the best of friends...
Cats can only take so much and puppies don't know when to quit...

I don't think they like each other. They do not want the other in his territory. I don't think it's a happy team. They are probably just putting up with each other but would be happier without the other there.
