Yes and no.It all depends.Cheap airlines that issue paper ticket can be very expensive few days prior to flight but then sometimes not.What you should do is check every day for prices and when you see It is kind of cheap take it cause tomorrow might be twice as much.

Sometime the travel agents have something they call last Minuit it is cheap.But when you need it,it is never cheap.
If you are able to book it online then check it a month or 2 earlier.do not choose the weekends for travel from or to home it is always expensive.look at www.seat24.com and choose your location.hope it will give you a cheap ticket at least ones.I got one to India from somewhere i europe.
