Yes, they have to do an amniocenteses. There's a risk of miscarriage and infection so you need to talk to your doctor.

You can find out paternity before the baby is born but not thru a blood test. It would be done thru an amniocentesis. This is where they insert a large needle thru the mom's belly and into the fluid surrounding the baby extracting a sample of the fluid. This fluid will contain the baby's DNA and can determine paternity along with other health or genetic issues. It is not a procedure to be entered into lightly since it does carry some risk. Most people do not have an amniocentesis simply to determine paternity. It is usually done because the baby is at a high risk for health problems for some reason. I think that you may also be able to determine paternity using chorionic villi sampling. This is another invasive procedure that is used to determine health issues of the baby and not to be entered into lightly because of the risk it can carry for the baby.

Yes you can, but not through a regular blood test. It would require an amniocentesis, which is a large needle that is inserted through your abdomen and into the uterus to withdraw some of the amniotic fluid. There are risks including bleeding, infection and miscarriage. It would be best to wait until the baby is born if that is the only reason for the amnio, but if there are other concerns that warrant an amnio being done then the paternity test can be done at the same time. It is also quite costly and would not be covered by insurance.

Wait until the baby is born. You don't want to risk the life of your unborn baby by sticking it with needles before he's born. Afterwards, they probably won't do a blood test. You'll do swabs of your cheeks for DNA testing. You can buy a test kit from a lab through the internet and have it sent to your home. Do a swab of your cheek, the baby's and the possible fathers. Send it to the lab to which you recieved the test kit. The results will be back in 2 weeks. The test kit is a do it yourself. It's not cheap either.

Amniocentesis is the way to test the baby's blood in the womb and is dangerous to the baby while painful for the mother. It involves a very long needle and also increases the risk of a miscarriage.
You are better off waiting until the baby is born and going on the Maury show

It can be done through amniocentesis, but only after the fourteenth week of pregnancy. It involves inserting a needle through your abdomen and into your uterus to extract a small amount of amniotic fluid, the fluid surrounding your baby in the womb. There is pain involved.
Amniocentesis is considered quite safe, with small risks of miscarriage, hemorrhage, infection and leakage of amniotic fluid. This test is usually used to detect birth defects, such as Down's syndrome. Since there is any sort of risk involved, I would wait until after the baby is born, when it will be safer for both mother and child.

Yes, but you would have to have a blood sample from the baby, so you would have to operate on the mother to do it, and get a blood sample from the fetus. A very bad reason for this kind of procedure - better to just wait until AFTER the baby is born.

Yes- it is expensive and done by amniocentesis which is painful for you and risky to both you and baby. Best to wait until baby is out and then do one of the tests that you can put a rush on. Also you can ask your hospital if they could perhaps draw the labs while you are still in the hospital to make it quicker.
