Those who are serious and know only to please answer this:

Is there karma or fate or destiny. If yes, then if we are affected by the good or bad of it then everything for us is ruled by it. Then when we can not avoid this natural law why we should pray or worship whatever. What is the benefit of prayer in the face of effects of K or f or d. If no relief is the way left to us ,is only abject keeping quiet and suffer for bad k or f or d.? Then when we can not absolve the effects of bad k or f or d , how can we survive in this earth having born.
Precisely what effects are the prayer in this context of K or F or D?

I don't believe in fate or destiny but I believe in Karma. You misunderstand Karma. We create our own Karma by setting up situations that will naturally develop into our results. It is under our control. There is no predestination. So 'prayer' can be very effective in our creation for ourselves.

Karma - I do believe in instant karma. Actually I fear it, that's why I don't knowingly do bad things (as much as possible). Maybe it's just coincidence, but I'm not taking a chance. You might say I'm living Pascal's wager in this area...

Fate/Destiny: Like the god theory, it's possible to believe, it's even possible to draw logical conclusions. But ultimately, you cannot KNOW whether there is such a thing. So I'll have to go with "I don't know."

For the sake of argument, say there is such a thing as fate. Has anyone or anything informed you of yours? How are you supposed to follow your destiny if you don't know what it is? You might try to divine the future, but at best, you might get a glimpse here or there. So ultimately all you can do is live your life as you see fit.

So I still don't know. But since it isn't something that's revealed to us, it may as well not exist.

Perhaps there are little fates and little destinies - like being fated to come across a book that'll change your life. But I think it's more likely that something like that would be put down to chance, or an answer to something you've been asking for in your life. Which leads us to....

Prayer: Whether or not prayer has any effect on a situation, it can be calming to the pray-er. Although an atheist, I love the expression "let go and let god." That's what prayer is to me. You can express your wishes for a desired outcome, and then you just stop worrying about.

The kind of prayer that's done in church, or bedtime prayers, to me have no purpose.

well i believe in karma..what comes around goes around.....i'm not sure about fate or destiny...we are always making choices...i believe ever thing we do is a "ripple" affect to what happens next...whether you walk out the door and go left or go right changes all possibilities for that day......we just have to be more careful about the choices we make...there is no going back...i suppose if you made the right choices which lead to something great you could call that fate or destiny...but nothing is written in stone....

Karma: In my opinion, not all bad things come from Karma, some are pure chance. I think Karmic retribution is a naturally occuring thing. For example, say a man is cruel and lashes out at his friends during life, chances are in his old age he will have no one to care for him.

Even though God may know your destiny, karma, or fate, you don't, so the decisions you make every second of every day, have an ongoing affect on your future!

You are saying other words that God already predestined us to go to heaven or hell. If that is true then God would make everybody go to heaven because he said in the Bible that he wish that all will come to him and be saved. Because of sin we are all destined to be lost but through the blood of Jesus we have an escape from our destiny but we have the free will to avoid our destiny of doom.

We pick major events to happen to us in our lives prior to reincarnation, even the negative ones.

Karma is truly what a lot of religions have called 'god'. When you think or do things, the energy you generate draws like energy to you. Let's say you hurt someone somehow...that tells your subconscious that behavior is okay to happen to you also. The resulting boomerang of it back to you may miss you and hit your family since they are on a similar vibration to you. Be very careful of your thoughts and actions.
