Unless you are drunk driving and weaving and almost causing accidents, there really isn't anything the police can do-what kind of bad driving skills are you talking about???? Someone sees you speeding and takes your plate and calls the police?-they WON"T do anything. If it is road rage or you have contact with that person that is different.People are driving and seeing other people do stupid things all the time-police would be up to their eyeballs in citizens complaints. They are too busy.At our PD here, they won't even write an accident report unless both parties come in. PS Take a driving course and relax

The Police can charge you if there was clear evidence of a crime being committed. Reporting you for speeding will not allow the police to proceed because there is no actual evidence of the speed that you were travelling. Crossing double white lines and overtaking on a bend does give them sufficient evidence if the witness is credible. If someone has reported you, the Police may pay you a visit to advise you on safer driving.

No, do not worry, someone is trying to scare you. The police would not even consider such a complaint in most countries unless of course you damaged some property, hit or injuired someone, killed an animal or do not have a driving license.

If any of the above apply, the becareful. They would not drag you into the police station nor arrest you, but they will keep an eye on you and that is easy.

The English system works on the "complaints system". Somebody makes a complaint to the Police and depending how important the complainer is, the Police may or may target the "victim". Businesses and politicans use such tricks to get back at their rivals and enemies.

As most drivers have got awful driving behaviour, you should work out who your enemy is!

That depends upon two things. Were you video taped? And are you driving a company vehicle? If either answer is yes, then yeah, I'd say you might get yourself into some trouble. Also, who called on you? Was it the police chief's wife? Hmmmm....

I reported someone to the police for possibly drink driving. Swerving all over dual carriageway. They said they wouldn't do anything unless I wanted to make a statement and prosecute. What bo*&%£ks. They got away with it.

Sorry, jessiekatsopolous
but incorrect spelling (and poor grammar) are not yet a crime.
I don't suppose they ever will be now.
What a pity!
It would make reading answers more bearable.
Strange really, when there is a check spelling button immediately above the answer box.

Not from one person. The police know people say things that are not true. They have to have proof. If there are more instances and more witnesses than you may.

Most states won't do anything official unless a police officer actually witnesses the alleged offense.

Of course not, the police need to actually catch you committing a road traffic offence.
