Go to a feed store and look in the horse section. There are a lot of fly sprays that work on horses as well as dogs. Be sure to read the label and see if you can put it on a dog because some fly sprays you cant. The label will say for horses and dogs. The most common area of a dog the flies tend to bite is on the tip of their ears. I have a dog that the flies love to bite his ears, so I use a roll on fly control and put that on his ears. I reccomend using a product called Zonk! or Endure. Good Luck with fighting those nasty flies off!!

Many of theh orse fly sprays can be used safely on dogs.
One of them that I use is Natures Defense It is an all natural product and very safe and does not smell to bad.
If you are having problems with flys on his ears they make a stuff called Swat in the horse section it is bright pink and a thick sticky cream. You spread it one and it will stay for a day or two and repley the flys. It is afe to put on even over sores and wounds and has some antiseptic properties. It works very well and many people use it of thier dogs ears.
Try looking at any fram supply store or at any of the horse supply places on line.

I feed both my dogs and my horse garlic powder with their food. It naturally deters biting insects. It takes a little while to work, the garlic has to build up it their system. I give it to my dogs year round, just a little shake over slightly dampened dry food.
