At what point in your life did you CHOOSE to be heterosexual? Or did those urges feel kind of irresistable when you were around 13?

Of course, if you are Christian and secretly gay, it would be nice to hear what you think too. Everyone's anonymous here.

Has anybody noticed that almost all gay people say that it is not a choice. And make very very valid explanations of why it is not.

And the only people who say it IS a choice, are people who are not homosexual and know absolutely nothing about it?

To the Scripture quoter (butterfly), it is NOT unnatural for gay people to engage in homosexual intimacy. It would certainly be unnatural for a heterosexual to engage in homosexual intimacy. You seem to love quoting the same Scripture over and over, and yet you seem to have very little insight into its meaning. Just saying.

While one may have a predisposition or proclivity for homosexuality, because of sin, I believe that choice largely is involved in homosexual behavior. The apostle Paul reminds the first century Corinthians that some among them used to practice homosexual acts. But they changed their lifestyle by means of God's holy spirit and the precious blood of Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). Plato also speaks of those men who lie with men (sexually) as murderers of humankind because they sow seed on rocky soil (figuratively speaking). Sex is primarily for the sake of reproduction. That is a little hard to do when one engages in same-sex relationships. It is nature and nurture that makes us who we are. This is basic science, not rocket science.

What you ask is leaving out the most important element - which is having God's spirit in us and be aligned with his order and will.
Seems like that just gets left out over and over
We teach our children permissiveness, tolerance and expect them not to fall into harm?
The problem is a world that rebelled and fallen into a place where God's ways, which give us life, are not even familiar any more - so we wind up wandering on our own without God and the knowledge of him.
It leads to confusion, and misdirected lives that don't have an idea why
Step one is this problem - your question is a symptom of the problem.

I'm Roman Catholic and wanted to be a nun (after I found out that I couldn't be a priest). I'm probably not the best Catholic in the world since I don't care if you're gay or straight. I have one rule, and it goes for both sides of the fence. Don't make out in front of me. Beyond that, I couldn't care less what you did, gay or straight. I know all of my friends who are gay have said they were born that way.

Maybe at the same time you choose to have a lisp? Don't know too many children with the gay sounding lisp and inflections...seems like a choice to me.

Child molesters often have chemical or hormonal imbalances that cause them to be more likely to become a pedafile, but do we excuse them for their immoral behavior? No, it is wrong. (I know that these are two different scenarios, but genetically and according to the bible, they are similar...both sin.) I think homosexuals think that Christians are just constantly judging them. They seem to have a huge chip on their shoulders. We don't care what you do. Yes, it is wrong and I would not choose to live in constant sin...but millions of people do live in sin. Everyone sins. Our responsibility is just to tell you that there is a God who loves you and that what you're doing is wrong in His eyes. After that it's your choice. If you are living in guilt, then change your life. Otherwise, why worry what we think?

Homosexuality is sin to start with. For some it might be a choice but I believe it is also caused by nature which is corrupted when sin entered this world for example there were no thorns or thistles, animals didn't kill and eat each other to survive etc. But you can easily see that even with the dinosaurs I believe it was caused by corrutped nature that produced them and the flood wiped them out because God only took in the ark animals that were closer to the original that He created. However, you can clearly see where I am going that we also as humans are affected by nature, you have babies being born deformed both physically and mentally and I strongly believe that God is powerful enough to help someone who has a corrupt nature to be changed.

Watch, you're gonna get all kinds of nonsense instead of a direct answer.

"The Bible contains six admonishments to homosexuals and 362 admonishments to heterosexuals. That doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they need more supervision." ~Lynn Lavner
