I very briefly dated a woman around a year ago. Although I thought we were falling in love with each other, she unexpectedly ended it with the "let's just be friends" speech. This was almost a year ago, but I still think about her ALL the time. Since then a great deal has happened in my life: I have moved cities and continents (New York to London), I have a wonderful new loft apartment, I have a demanding and very high paying job, I've been promoted twice, I have lots of friends, and I have made new friends, I have been on several holidays and many business trips, I have bought new clothes, joined two gyms, spent time with my family, learned new skills and have much to look forward to. But I still think about her all day. She is the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning. I know she's not interested, and she lives 3,000 miles away, but I just can't help it. What can I do?

If you believe in horoscope (forecast of a person's future from a diagram showing the relative positions of the stars and planets at his or her birth) then please let me know your birth date and month. If it is by chance 'cancer' then you fit the description.

Anyway, I do not want to speculate as I myself felt similar to what you are undergoing now, but that was about 24 years ago. Now I am married and we have 3 beautiful daughters and I have forgotten all the mental agony I when I failed to marry my first love!

So, please be patient and time is the big healer!

Holy Moly.............you sound as though you could have the pick of the bunch...if she said the 'lets just be friends' speech she did it for a reason. Would you really want her back now....just because you have made such a success of your life? That would be wrong and dumb and it probably wouldnt last. Enjoy your new found life you sound as though you have so much going for you..a promising future...and old love will always be just that...something from your past... remember it for what it was...plenty of fish in the sea.... and long distance relationships are awfully hard...very romantic because distance makes the heart grow stronger but very hard on a day to day basis. Isnt London awesome?! I used to live in Wembley Park... now Ontario Canada. Good luck.

What is your problem man!!! It's seems like you have a wonderful life already. If you can not get another woman I think that the main problem is you. Your standards are probably to high for any other woman to reach. Your journey should not stop with just one woman. Go out and look for another woman. With your type of lifesytle you should not have a hard time finding a woman.

What worked for me was getting involved in community projects on a volunteer basis. The only downside to this was that when I was able to move on without her, I was still commited to the projects.
